Chapter 1
"Be safe, okay?"
"Yes mom I'll be fine. It's youth group!" I rolled my eyes. My mom is not lax about anything. She wouldn't let me go on a Ferris Wheel till I was 16, and it was for kids anyway.
I walked into the Youth building and was greeted by the excited screams of one of my best friends, Ana.
"Sarah! I new you were going to come!" She turned to the table behind her and said," You owe me 5 bucks."
"You bet that I was going to be late?"
"Yes. How else am I supposed to make money?"
I laughed and turned," Lets go gang, were already late."
I ran up the stairs hoping there would still be a few good seats open. And... YES!! The seats in the very back weren't taken. I set my stuff down across three seats. I looked up when I heard a really squeaky laugh down the hall. Oh great. The 'cool group'. Whatever, they gave their selves the title.
There are six people in the group. Their leaders name is Ethan, then there is Sandra, Alex, Alicia, Caleb and his best friend, Lucas. Lucas and Caleb drove me crazy the most. They were the players of the group, the ones that had all the girls hearts. But not mine. Me and Ana seemed to be the only ones with any sense left. We just couldn't understand how girls could fall for someone who is obviously fake.
Ana and the others all walked in. I moved my stuff for them without taking my eyes of the group.
We all sat down and Mr. Jones walked in to begin his sermon.

One week later:
"I don't know you look great in all of them."
"Yeah but I have to make a decision! Soon!!!" My bestie whined over the phone.
"Listen Ellie," I said as I put the fifth layer of chapstick on," It's your choice. Your freaking out over literally nothing."
"It's not nothing! This is a life or death situation!"
"It's Instagram. I have to go, goodbye." I hung up the landline, grabbed my bag and flew down the stairs.
By the time we got to the church, they had already started lunch. I ran inside and bumped into someone. "I am so sor- OMG Mrs. Julie! Hi!! I thought you were still in Japan!?"
"I just got in yesterday! It's so good to see you!"
"We have so much to catch up on!" Mrs. Julie was my old American Heritage Girls leader. We actually became close friends, and then she moved to Japan. No one told me she was visiting.
"Lets get some food. I just got in too." She said.
We ran as fast as we could to the Dessert table. Even though we have an older congregation, and they can barely move, they can really clear up that dessert. We timed them once, you wouldn't believe the results.
As I was grabbing my brownies, I looked up just in time to see Lucas staring at me! I was kinda weirded out so I looked back down. We moved down to the ice cream, and as I started scooping I heard a deep voice.
"Whats up my homie?" It said jokingly.
I looked up and there was Lucas. Nobody was trying to see who was talking, no one was making eye contact, even he was super focused on the food. I was confused so all I said was,"Who, me?"
He looked up and into my eyes. His were a dark brown with a light rim of caramel on the outside. We stared for what felt like hours. He finally spoke up and said,"Yeah, you."
I was sceptical as to why he was talking to me so I got kind of standoffish,"I'm fine."
"Good." He said and walked away.
I turned to Julie,"That was so weird. He has never spoken to me before, like ever."
"He seems nice."
"Yeah he seems nice but, he's probably not."
"Only one way to find out..."
"Yeah no thanks."
