Disagreement
"I read the other review of this book and I must say that I disagree with it wholeheartedly. I do not believe the author put the apostrophes in the names just to be unique, but because the characters are supposedly of a different race than humans. They are Anmah. They should have different names and yes, even different spellings of those names. And if the other reviewer is not adept enough at reading to keep the characters straight, then I feel sorry for him or her. I had no problem keeping them straight. I think this series is an incredible one that should get published as soon as possible."
okay concept, iffy execution
"I've got to be honest, I can't finish this. I can't get past the names long enough to follow the plot. seriously here, when every name is some jumble of syllables with no meaning, the reader has to spend more time trying to to remember who each person is than actually reading and sinking into the story. and the whole ap'ostrophe naming convention is horrible. fine, spell Gabriel as gabriyel if you have to. but throwing an apostrophe into a name just to make it "unique" is just a boring and distracting habit. it's perfectly fine to just write out Gabriel and Michael without distracting from the real writing by changing spellings and adding useless apostrophes. when you get ten pages into a story and you can't remember how it started because there's already a half dozen names with strange spellings and no character behind them, what's the point of continuing?"
