"A charming story. Based upon the chronology that Tolkien provided in his Appendix to the LoTR, I have always assumed (as have many, many others) that Bilbo would have met Estel as he sojourned in Imladris while on his trip both to and from Erebor. I thought that given likely Elven parental styles, Elrond would not have restricted the ten-year-old Estel to his room for the duration of the Dwarves visit. On the contrary, I have always thought that Elrond would enjoy letting visitors meet his foster-son, whom he loved as a son of his own. Given this relationship, I thoroughly enjoyed your story that looked at Elrond and his son at an earlier point in Estel's life. I am glad that I have discovered the treasure-trove of fan fiction relating to Estel in Imladris. It fills a gap that I have always felt was missing from the LoTR, a book that Tollkien hiself stated was simply not long enough...many of the subplots and stories he wanted to include simply could not make it into the text as it was published. Great job! Super writing! Touching story."
