A great story about the ephemeral, the continuing and the unpredictable.
"*MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS* Although I found the love story to be a little too perfect for my tastes, it shines a light on the beauty of sacrificial love. I really like how the way that Bobby loves, contrasts with the way his ex wife acted, which is all about opportunism. Bobby supports while, his ex went out the door, the moment that Bobby needed her the most. I believe it's a fantastic candidate for a full novel and could benefits of illustrations, because the imagery and atmosphere is splendid. As for my recommendations for a full novel: -Keep the sacrificial love aspects, but also portray the missed opportunities, misunderstandings and forgiveness. Love is also about loving when things are not perfect. (The ex wife wasn't strong at loving) -Also, focus on the things that the two characters share in common, with their tastes (outside banana pancakes) and their mutual values. That we find that their relationship is profoundly grounded and that they are meant for each other. That's the kind of thing that a full novel can leave room for. -In a full novel, there could be a bigger contrast between the red-haired women and the old wife. (The part with the two different rooms is fantastic). Maybe highlight a bit more their characters. How the new wife could be for example, deep, strong, adventurous, maternal and caring, while the other one is demanding and superficial (but could maybe have some great qualities too.). I'm a big fan of stories where the bad guys have their qualities and the good guys are flawed. Or even when there's no good or bad people, but good and bad actions. Anti-heroes are awesome too, so the way that Bobby is portrayed at the beginning is definitely something to keep! The protagonist could go even farter, as to do wrongs to cope with his suffering. (He's already drunk, which is perfect) But as a short tale, it's crazy good. Specially the second part and the ending. I loved it and truly recommend it. I truly admire the work of the writer. It's a masterpiece from someone passionate and it shows!"
