The Beginning
As the world started spinning and things started to get a little bit out of control, a mother laid waiting painfully for the doctors to get into the delivery room. She started screaming as contractions were more and more painful than the ones before. Finally when the doctors arrived she yelled at them that the babies are coming and they quickly got to work. After 55 minutes of pushing her two beautiful baby girls were born. But she saw something that made them even more special, her first born had hair of white and cold as ice skin, her second born had hair of orange and red, and she was hot to the touch.
She smiled and called for her husband who was in the waiting room, once he entered the room both babies were awake and their eyes just looking around. He walked over and smiled kissed his wife and said "they are beautiful, no matter what their hair looks like or the feel of their skin".
After 4 days in the hospital the family was able to go home. They packed up and started heading to the car. Once outside someone stepped out of the shadows and scared the wife. The person was going after the babies. As a scream came out from her mouth the person quickly shot her with a sleeping dart and then her husband, taking the babies and running away. Once the mom came to, she screamed in pain and cried in hurt. Her babies were gone with no trace of finding them.
After going through and filling out missing children reports the parents went home empty and broken. Once home they went to the nursery and sat down and held each other and cried. Their daughters were gone, the house was empty of the sounds of cries of babies, and the only sounds that were able to be heard were the sounds of two hearts breaking.
The next morning came and the phone rang, the mother quickly answered "hello? Oh hello officer how are you doing"? The officer told her that he was doing ok and told her that he had some good news but also some bad. The mother quickly asked about the good news first then bad. She put the phone on speakerphone for her husband to hear. "We found one of your daughters, she is ok but does have some minor bumps and cuts on her so an ambulance is on its way to the hospital". The officer says, "but there is no sign of the other. We still have K9 units out looking and we won't stop until your other child is found". He added. Both parents thank the officer and head off to the hospital.
When they get to the hospital they asked for the way to their daughter. The nurse lead them to their daughter and once they reached her she already knew what her powers were. She was the daughter born with the power of ice. Her name was Jade, she was crying up a storm and was freezing everything that touched her. Once her mother laid a hand on her face she went still and began to fall asleep. At least one of their children were safe and back in their arms. Still feeling heart broken they were still not completely whole.
As day two of finding one of their daughters they were home and trying to make things work. Mother stayed home while father worked. She never let one single minute go without her daughter right next to her. They cleaned up the nursery and made it to where there was only one crib and one bed in the room. It was the worst feeling of all when the mother had to take down her second child's name from the wall...
