Only Day One
I was startled awake by a flashing light. The shaft that I was contained in jolted and then started to move upward. Looking around at my surroundings, fear started to take over my thoughts. My mind started to fill with hopeless and frightening ideas of what was happening. I placed my hands on the ground, feeling cold metal beneath them. Pushing, I struggled to my feet. A sudden, large bolt struck the shaft, and the whole thing shook violently, sending me flat to the ground. I looked up curiously, as doors at the top of the shaft started to slowly open. For a split second, the light blinded me, but I quickly got use to it. My feet scrambled from underneath me and I was standing immediately.
There was still a cage-like door holding me inside, but I opened it with ease. Outside was all dirt except for a few grass splotches here and there. There was something you could call a 'farm' about fifty yards away that actually had livings animals. That surprised on how everything looked around here. I turned in a full circle, taking it all in. The whole place was surrounded by gigantic walls, reaching the height of probably around three hundred feet high. They were made of stone and had ivy tendrils growing on them.
Just a few yards away was something that looked like a tall, worn-down house. It was made of wood and the roof caved in slightly. The door was creaked open, it had no handle to turn to open or to close it. Windows scattered the building, some of which had the glass broken. It was all just scary.. where am I?
