What is your opinion?

Review on my nephew's behalf

"As I saw from the previous review that this is aimed at younger readers than myself, I thought it would be better to let a younger reader decide if it was good or not. So I read it out to my nephew, who has just turned 11, over the course of a few evenings. Here is a direct quote from him: "Wow wow wow! Read it again, that was amazing!" As you can tell, he rather enjoyed it. Personally, I quite liked it, but prefer something a little more complex to hold my interest if I'm reading for myself. The characters were interesting enough, if a bit basic and naive, but that's to be expected in a book for young readers. If you have a son or daughter, or young relative, do read this to them as they will probably enjoy it a lot more than older readers."

Good as far as it goes

"I'll just come right out and say it, Kitty - your other work is better! Don't get me wrong, this is a good story; the characters are fun and the plot moves along nicely, it's just... well, it reads like a first novel. (Which makes sense, since I know that's what it is.) It works well as a kids' book, as the other reviewer said, but for a 27 year old (like me) it's quite obvious where things are heading. As far as this goes, it's very good, but I get the feeling you took what you learnt writing this and applied it to your other novel, and that is a much better and more involved story. I will definitely read this to my 14 year old niece though - she'll love it! To sum up; a good book for anyone under 16, but will leave adults wanting more."

good kids' book

"I get the feeling this is aimed at a young audience, and I think it would work well as a book for 10 - 15 yearolds. Reading as an adult it does seem a little simplified, but for younger readers it would be very interesting. I enjoyed the plot, although its an old tale the writer has done a totally unixpected twist by setting it in the far future and having animals as the main characters. I've given this 4 stars overall, but if I was a few years younger I'd have rated it 5."
