A light flickers as a hand lets hold of a newspaper, it falls to the floor..it's headline- "Haken Labs, an energy company has shut down development of a revolutionary power activator due to poor results in initial testing". The thump of the newspaper, wakes Esoj as the light becomes brighter and stops flickering. He picks the newspaper and continues reading the employment section, taking notes. In the dark night, his apartment can be seen from a distance, the only one illuminating a light out of a thousand others.

In the busy rat race, the following morning, Esoj circulates job applications to every brand he comes across in the city. In the evening he sits with a friend for a drink. "T's been 4 years man!,.4 years!!,.since I wz last employed, dnt thnk I can handle this!," Esoj counsels wit Ibum, his close friend."I know man!,.bt fuk it,.keep your head up man!,.you'l get somthn,.alryyt!.,responds Ibum. After more conversation and intoxication, he makes a lonely trek back to his apartment, constantly looking over his shoulder as he has been the whole month. He thinks someone is following him, but again he reckons its paranoia. At his apartment, immensely depressed, Esoj starts mulling over missed chances and supposed failures in his life as he passes out leaving his apartment light on, still the only illuminant of his society.

A phone rings, Esoj wakes up, picks his phone to see who it is. He quickly sits upright and speaks as clearly as he can, "Hello bbe,". "Hey bby, mornin,.mis yaa,.u gud?,.u whr?,"answers a woman on the other end. "M gud, u?I am at the office bbe. Be gud, I chek u later", responds Esoj,."Ok bby, love you",answers the woman. "Love you too bbe," Esoj says as he hangs up his phone. He had been lying to his girlfriend that he had a job. He lazily gets out bed, the watch reads 12 pm, he considers it another wasted day.

His apartment is messy and hasn't been cleaned for sometime. He looks at himself in the mirror, his physique is frail, it's been six years since he lifted weights or exercised. Dirty clothes litter the floor, he hasn't any clean ones to wear. His only pair of leather work shoes is covered in dust, he hasn't worn them for months now. His only pair of sneakers is worn out, he's had them for almost eight years now. His second hand phone is in disrepair, the back cover is missing and the battery is all but dead. He's broke, he hasn't bought anything valuable for years now. The day is spent in front of the TV as he falls into another depression, trying to connect the dots in his life. So he was once employed, well before his peers actually, but lost the job. In the meantime, he has seen his peers establish themselves in careers while he remains stuck in unemployment. These thoughts greatly overwhelm Esoj as the night creeps in and taints the sky. He throws some clothing on his back, puts on his tattered sneakers and he's out. He takes an unusual route, constantly looking over his shoulder, still sensing he is been followed. He stops at a bridge that has passed over a water body. It is low tide as the chilled wind rushes over Esoj's face. His hands grab on tightly as he climbs and stands on the edge of the bridge. As if at a diving competition, he stretches out his arms and plunges a hundred feet onto the rocky surface. A sharp rock has severed Esoj's torso and chest as he lays dead. A figure appears from the night, pulls Esoj's body to a spot under the bridge, pulls a syringe from a pouch and injects the body with a substance.
