Present-day(how I live)
For five years now I have successfully ran away and I am glad I did. I lived in a dangerous home but let's not worry about that right now. My name is Emery Ross and I am Eighteen. I have black sleek hair except right now it's knotted and dirty. I have blue eyes but it's like the color has faded. My lips used to be a cheery pink and they used to be smooth. Now they are chapped and pale. I live in an abandoned house. It's always cold and there's no water. I have stuff that I took when I escaped. It included a blanket,a few pairs of clothes, and one pair of shoes that's it.
Lucky for me there is a clean river behind the house and not a lot of people live near. The closested there are people is five miles away. When I first got here I found soap. There were three bottles. I am always very limited so I wash my clothes two times a month. I don't eat a lot either. There are wild berries that grow in the backyard and I eat a few for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It gets real boring but it's all I have. I haven't been around people in years because there's a reward for finding me.
The people who are trying to find me are none other then my adopted parents. My parents died when I was five. Anyways I hide out here because no one ventures out here. There are wolves and other animals. That's why I stay inside all the time unless to get berries or wash clothes and myself. The house is small. There's small bathroom but it doesn't work. I use it but not a lot I never really need to. There's a small thing of food in the small kitchen but the food is scarce. There's bread that's it really and Jams I've made. There's a living room with old old couches that's ripped up and dirty and that's it. I'm thankful I have all this though because without it I wouldn't be able to survive.
Right now I'm laying on the couch with my blanket. I am freezing though because the blanket is small. It's not winter though but the house has no heat from the outside. It's hard in the winter there are no berries and the bread supply is very low. I have to walk to a little store and they give me bread but it's a very long walk through the woods and then down a street. It's very hard to do in the winter. The shop is located out of town. He knows about the award but I told him my story and knows why I left that's why he gives me free bread.
I guess I am going to sleep early because I am very tired and I have to go get bread tommorow. I close all windows and try to lock some heat into the house. I eat a piece of jam and bread and I dose off.
