Chapter 1

You have got to be kidding me. As I step out of my best friend's car, I make eye contact with my mother. Her bright head wrap and gypsy like beads nearly blinding me as I walk towards our house. "Hey mom" I look past her trying to avoid the inevitable. "Don't you dare hey mom, me!" I can feel my face turning ten shades of red. Uhhh someone shoot me now. Drag me from this misery. I turn and make full eye contact. Knowing the school called her. Snitches. "A fight Sema Hamese, what could have prompted you to think words no longer hold value and you should use your fists!" I look down and slowly start kicking at nothing in the dirt. "Nothing, I dont want to talk about it." My mom grabs my chin and force my eyes to hers. "Sema, what happened " Her eyebrows knit together. Almost reaching her forehead. Her like hazel eyes seems to gloss with worry. Ever since my father left, she thinks I'm acting out. That I'll end up dead or on drugs. I don't know, but that is not the case. I try to force my eyes away. Feeling the tears pushing behind my eyes. I fight to hold them back. I just can't! The the look of concern on her face. It breaks my heart. I can't tell her these girls called me a "soon to be orphan" like they are just waiting for her to die. The cancer keeps playing yo yo with her. Even with wolf healing. Shes drained. "Mom really, some girls just pushed me to the edge. I should've never let them get to me like that." That knowing look. Like she can read my mind ,spreads across her face. She nods. Shes never been the punishment type. It's like it really does hurt her more to punish us. "Ok Sema ,but no more fighting please. People are cruel. But if you are discovered in one of your fits of rage. You put the whole pack in danger. " I know shes right. I dont want her to be. But she always knows best. I nods again. She grabs me and hugs all of my pieces together. "I love you mi peto" damn eye balls, stupid tears.

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
