This story is a must read if you like characters with a brooding nature, struggling with some kind of inner turmoil, and a story with lots of spice, but also with a tightly written plot. Solina is not about to go gently into that good night. Our spirited main female character succumbing to her mate’s charms is about as politically incorrect as it gets. While struggling to withstand the mate bond, she still demands respect. She's learning to love and trust those around her, in spite of some harrowing ordeals she's been through and to realising just how strong and unique she is. Malachai is delicious and brooding. Your heart really breaks for him at times. It is the emotional aspects in this story that keeps you reading. And then there is Michael and Freelah. Great character development right there, with some cheeky bantering throughout between Malachai and Freelah that keeps you smiling. Michael, the 2000 year old vampire, who finds himself causing all sorts of weird and dangerous situations, is the charmer that keeps surprising you. Masterful storytelling. Immersive world. Cleverly crafted characters. It's a book that satisfyingly resolves yet leaves me wanting so much more. I would definitely recommend 🖤"

"The beginning really surprised me! I started reading and oh--there's an orgasm!! Haha, reading this was so much fun to be honest, and it was just super hot and steamy, and although I don't read stuff like that much, this was worth reading because it was written so so well!!
