Summary

Chapter 1

Beep beep beep beep

I groaned and flopped my hand onto my alarm, pressing the snooze button. I check the time, 4:12 A.M. I frowned, Why had I woken so early? I didn’t recall having anything to do today-

“Frick..”

I breathed out. I practically hurdled out of bed and grabbed A pair jeans and a shirt. I Slip it on over my underwear and Bra. I check the time again, only 4:23 AM. Meh, that’s enough time to go outside for a minute. I check and make sure nobody was awake and walk over to my porch door. There was no railing on it so i wasn’t allowed onto it. I opened the door and looked out the screen, it was still fairly dark. The sun just barely tipped over the horizon.

I grabbed the nearest hair tie and threw my hair into a messy bun. I opened the screen door and carefully stepped outside, putting a blanket between the door to keep it from completely shutting. The breeze was nice, it was the middle of summer but it was fairly cool. I stepped over to a pillar and clutched onto it. I stood there for awhile, letting the breeze cool me off after my restless sleep.

After a good 10 minutes I figured I had shit to do. So i moved the blanket and locked the doors, I put on my pajama pants and a old shirt Once more I made sure nobody was awake and went down stairs. I took a sharp right into the kitchen and looked around, I always and to eat something in the mornings or else I would get sick.

After sometime I finally went outside, I went straight to the barn and grab a lead. I got to work on my morning chores, I moved some rams from the breeding pens to their pens. After moving the two I normally took care off then went into the show lamb side. I looked over the five lambs. Each seemed to look okay and fit for the show. I hopped in to get a closer look and my only whether lamb trotted over. He rubbed up against me, I gave him a pat and kneeled down stroking him.

“Hey Gandalf (Gan- D - Off)), How you feeling? Are you going to behave today hm?”

I gave him a few more scratches and went to the show trailer. I opened the tack pen and grabbed 5 of the 11 show halters, walking back to the show barn. I spent a good 5, maybe 6 minutes catching the sheep. I Clipped them onto the fence and swung open the trailer, I opened the big pen and led out the girls.

I grabbed Gandalf and Sullivan and led them to the second pen, I took their leads off and helped them into the pen. Locking the gate behind then I shut the back gate. I loaded up some gear such as the blower, a fold up stand etc. I looked at my phone, 5:34 AM, I went inside and made a REAL breakfast of bacon eggs on toasted bread. It was an easy meal that filled my stomach, so I made it a lot.

“Why are you awake so early?”

Mumbled my father as he saw me on the couch,

“I had stuff to get done, I loaded the sheep and the stand and stuff..”

“What time did you wake up?”

“Um around 4”

I murmured, I looked over to find a frown spreading on his face, He walked off to the kitchen. I heard mumbling but didn’t bother to ask.

“August come here bud”

The family’s little 2 year old corgi Australian shepherd mix came bounding over.

“Potty? You needa go potty?”

I smile as he ran over to the baby gate, keeping him out of the back. I grabbed his harness and slip it on, clipping the side attachment. I grab the dog leash and clip it on, opening first the big door, then the small glass door. August bolted off the deck and I walked him around then waited as he used the restroom.

“Come on August, pond or road?”

I asked, he dragged be towards the field so we walked down to the pond. It was nice, he got exercise, which he mildly needed, and I got to be alone. It was so peacefully in the morning, when your older sister at 24, younger sister at 12, are sleeping. I my mind I’ve always suspected i had moderate or mild Anxiety, severe anger issues and bi-polar depression. Though i was never tested I’m almost sure that i have the anger issues and anxiety. All this after my first, and only, horse Bulls Eye passed on.

August tugged me towards the house and we walked home. When we got home everybody was outside finishing up with the last of the packing.

We arrive at the Herington fair grounds. We unpack our supplies and I get Gandalf out of the trailer and onto the stand, where i remove his coat and leg wraps. I do a quick wash down, making him pure white. I fluff up his legs and take a step back.

``Dang Gandalf~ You look handsome,``

I told the sheep in a whisper. I know I’m kind of weird but that was the best my baby had ever looked. Gandalf was a pure bred dorest whether. He was my boo this year, sweetest animal I’ve ever met.

“TYLER! Go change! You go in soon!”

“How long?!”

“I think about 15” I nodded and grabbed my show shirt and jeans and jump into the trailer to change. With swift motions my shirt is switched out for a red polo, my leggings for some boot cut jeans.

“TYLER NOW!”

“Coming!” I yelled and quickly did a simply make up look and did my hair running out I grab Gandalf and kneel down.

“Please behave”

I asked him as I cupped his head in my hands. I put on his show lead and slip on my boots. We walk to the ring, I glance at Brandon. He grins at me. We are..... Hm what to call us..

Frenemies? (Fren- I - me - s) A mixture of friends and enemies ?Yeah that sounds right, anyways, we both hate showing sheep. Though he's a year younger then me. My 7th grade year I was told i didn't have to show sheep the next year.. Yeah that never happened. I mean I enjoy it, but it's the fighting that makes me want to stop.

Class 4 Whether dorset weight 100-135 pounds please enter the arena at this time, Class 4 whether Dorsets'!

Boomed the loud speakers, I slip the lead off of Gandalf's head , a hand to my left reaches for the lead rope I assume it's my mom and I hand it to her. Walking over I line up behind somebody random. I watch the line start moving into the arena. I give Gandalf a last pat and walk in.

Bloodlines

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...

Sharda: I really enjoyed the pace of this story. It was mostly realistic, but It was tough to wrap my head around that a 13-year-old boy would be so intuitive and a friend to his mom. My 13-year-old daughter is super smart and says I am her best friend so I guess it is possible. I struggled because boys usu...
