TAME

Monica, a beautiful girl lived at Windhoek city in Namibia. It is a very busy city with largest population about two hundred and fifty thousand. She liked staying in town so that she can keep herself busy with her business. She has every material things that any girl would like to own. She is an intelligent woman with own carrier as an Auditor, work-alcoholic and anti-social sometimes. She barely has friends and married to her work.

She is an entrepreneur with various small businesses in Namibia and neighbor country. She spent most of her holidays with family and friends. She enriches herself more into different knowledge that would help her grow in carrier. Her parents encouraged her to settle down since she is about thirty and still has no serious boyfriend or fiance at a time.

Monica doesn’t consider age as a factor for her to settle and start a family. She doesn’t care about how much she is aged. All she fears is worries of her parents. Then only she knows what is in her heart, in fact since she started seeing men she has not yet finds the one for herself.

“Mom I have heard you”. She begged to her mom

“Sweetheart, I am insisting this because you can’t stay single forever and am worried.” Monica’s mom Helena stated longing hold her daughter’s hand and hugged her. “Your mummy wants to see you happy again.” she added.

“Mummy I am happy, can’t you see?. She smiled wide open showing her bright teeth to her mom else raised her eyebrows.

“No, you are not. I just want you to have a partner.” She interjects her

“Mom how sure are you that am not dating?”. She raised her eyebrows asked her mom

“You have never brought anyone to us “.

“Okay mom I will bring a man soon”.

“oh really?, she widened her eyes and staring at her daughter.

“Yes mom so that you and dad can be happy and not worried about my future”. She smiled at her.

“When will it be?”. She asked but suddenly interrupted by her husband Tom.

“What have I missed here?”. He asked them with wide smile

“A lot”, Monica replied

“Your daughter is dating!”. Her mom shouted, and then clapped her hands together very excited about the news before she Stood up and performs a happy dance.

Hoarse laugh was released from Tom

“Oh mommy”. Monica hides her eyes, shaking her head sideways, feeling embarrassed.

Despite Monica is good in business industry but she is so shy when comes to relationships. She is so scared to fall in love. She heard so many heart breaking stories from few of her friends, since then she couldn’t imagine herself into that position. She wants to learn men first before she enters into relationship with one. Currently Monica does date someone but not serious to tugged him to see her parents. She just lied to her parents so that they can stop nagging and worried about her personal life.

“Darling, am so happy for you, I can’t wait to meet him dear.” Tom stated but still over joyful with how his wife happily dancing around their living room. “so when are we going to see him, dear?” he asked her.

Her mom stopped dancing around and stared at her while biting her nails nervously, waiting for her reply.

Holy cow! What I am going to do. Oh God not now please!.....

“Well dad let me talk to him first and arrange the date. Onward I will inform you next week?. She replied looking at them cocked her head aside and ended her statement like a question.

“Okay that’s great baby. Oh God! thank you for answering my prayers.” Her mom whispered while caresses her cheeks. “Am so happy dear,” .Same time took in deep breath and smiled.

Anna Monica’s mom turned back and switch on the music player to continue with her dance. As well her father joined on her side. She felt so happy and scared the same time. Her mom pulled her up and hugged her while dancing together happily.

She loved her parents so much that hurting them is the last thing she wanted to do in her life. Every time she ensures them that everything is alright with her so that they can stop worrying for her.

After she left Okahandja, a small town where her parents live. It was just forty three miles north from her town Windhoek. She took an hour to arrive at her apartment. She was so tired and happy from her parent’s joy. Since she was full from food she ate at her parents, decided to take a shower and lie on bed. After thirty minutes of shower and changing, she dropped on her bed and took her phone from night stand dialed her boyfriend, Fred.

She is with Fred for six months of trying not to break up with him. Monica has never ever stayed this long in a relationship and this is her first time since she was born. Always she listened to her instincts. If she doesn’t feel good in that relationship she always walked away from it or quit it. Only this time she sustained on this relationship with Fred, though she has some doubts of her own about him.

“Holla babe”. Fred greeted on other side

“Hello dear, you good”. She replied

“Yes am good, been missed you lately. Missing everything about you, you know” Fred commented while grinning. Since was a video he was so proud he still have affection on her.

She can feel her cheeks burned up from his compliments. He always commented to her features and that’s how Monica fell in love with him due to his Charming. He is a nice guy but too charming to everyone on contrary Monica is not, that’s where Monica doubts him. They actually don’t have much in common but still Monica loves him. As well as he loves her too.

“I would take it as a compliment”, she smiled and continue. “Well my parents want to see you next weekend. Is it okay for you?, I mean are you going to be free next weekend?.” she added.

“Well- “. He stopped scratching the back of his head. “You know am so busy this lately babe. There are so many cases need to be taking care of.” Brushing his face with left palm frightens. “What time will it be then?.” He asked furrowing his eyebrows.

Fred is a lawyer and has so many cases to take care of. Despite of him been busy he sometimes hangs out with her. He is so caring and humbled.

“Probably, lunch and staying for dinner then we leave. Is it fine on Saturday?”. She argue

“Yes will try then since I love you get to no choice i guess, I will”. He obliged winked at her

“Thanks babes. I love you too darling”. She replied same time grinning at him.

They discussed about work and other things then end up the call.
