Prologue
Joong Dong High School; a famous high school in South Korea that ranked #1 to be offered to enter the ever famous Seoul National University. It rated 21.6% in the entrance rate for the SKY universities last 2012.
[ SKY is the abbreviation for the three prestigious universities in South Korea. These three universities include Seoul University, Korea University and Yonsei University. ]
You have been invited to the Joong Dong High School Batch 2008 Class A Class Reunion this incoming Saturday. The location coordinates will be sent through SNS the day before the class reunion. Please bring anything that might be considered your weapon if ever an apocalypse is to happen.
Note: Everyone must attend the reunion.
The letter inserted in a black envelope was sent to all students of Joong Dong High School Batch 2008 Class A. All the letters arrived to each and every one by mysterious means.
ONE WEEK BEFORE THE CLASS REUNION
Mark Lee, 31 years old, a renowned surgeon in Seoul National University Main Hospital.
After a 30 hour operation, he left the operating room totally exhausted.
“Doctor Lee! You left something in the operating standby area!”
A resident intern rushed towards his direction waving a suspicious black envelope in the air.
“What’s that?”
“Eh?” He immediately handed the letter and said, “It’s a letter addressed to you though.”
Mark inspected and saw his addressed name in front of the envelope.
“What’s this? I never had any recollection of bringing this inside.”
The resident doctor responded, “Maybe a love letter from one of the nurse?”
Mark opened the letter and read the content.
“You have been invited to the Joong Dong High School Batch 2008 Class A Class Reunion this incoming Saturday. The location coordinates will be sent through SNS the day before the class reunion. Please bring anything that might be considered your weapon if ever an apocalypse is to happen. Everyone must attend the reunion ...”
“Class reunion? Bring weapon? Is this the reunion concept?”
Angelica Kim, 30 years old, a famous actress.
Angelica faced the man in front of her with a very serious look on her face.
“Let’s break up.”
Out of the blue, that man received a sudden slap on the cheek.
“Okay, cut!”
It appeared to be that she was in the middle of a shooting. After the shoot, the staffs prepared for the next scene while Angelica went back to her seat. As she took a seat, a suspicious flower bouquet was placed on top of the table besides her.
“Did the manager buy this?”
She took the bouquet and suddenly found black letter attached onto it.
“What’s this?”
She opened the letter and read its content.
“A class reunion? It’s been a long time since I saw everyone, isn’t it?”
Francisco Choi, 30 years old, a famous announcer on the eight o’clock evening news.
“Prepare for standby!” Shouted by the floor director.
Francisco, holding a bottled water on his hand, slowly proceeded towards his designated seat. He was practicing his delivery and as he collected all the materials for that day’s news, a black envelope slipped and fell down the floor.
Without suspecting anything, Francisco picked up the envelope and looked around him first before opening.
“It’s been 12 years huh … Should I go?”
Maria Shin, 31 years old, a famous chef specializing in Japanese cuisine.
“Head chef! I think you need to see this.”
All of a sudden, one of her apprentice chef came to her looking pretty concern. That apprentice chef led her to the frozen room where they store raw ingredients.
“What’s that?” Maria instantly said after entering the room.
On top of one table, a frozen tuna was biting a black envelope in its mouth.
“It was addressed to you so I didn’t bother taking it without your permission.”
Maria took the envelope and read the contents out loud.
“You have been invited to the Joong Dong High School Batch 2008 Class A Class Reunion this incoming Saturday. The location coordinates will be sent through SNS the day before the class reunion. A reunion?”
“Then what in the world that invitation is doing here?”
The apprentice chef hesitated and said, “Probably you left it here? You seemed pretty distressed these days.”
“Is that so?”
Shanna and Sharina Song, 30 year old twins, famous models from a famous magazine cover.
The shutter of the camera was heard in every direction.
“Okay, that’s a wrap. As expected, the twins always looked beautiful in front of the camera.”
The twins approached the photographer and bowed down and thanked the photographer for the lovely pictures. As they were checking the photos, a suspicious black letter was included in one of the photos.
“What’s that thing?”
Shanna was the first one to notice about the mysterious letter.
“You’re right. What in the world is that?” Sharina followed up.
The photographer zoom the photo and said, “It seems to be a black envelope.”
They all looked towards the place where the black envelope was in the photo and surprised as they really saw it in that exact place.
“Strange. I didn’t see it when I was photographing you two though?”
Shanna and Sharina took the two black envelope and as they browsed the content,
“Class reunion?” They said in unison.
Denver Kim, Julius Lee, Samuel Yeon, 30 years old, baseball player regulars of the famous Doosan Bears
After the baseball game against Kia Tigers, they found exactly the same black envelope in their personal locker. They immediately gave each other swift glances after reading the letter’s content.
“Are you coming?” Denver asked.
Julius changed his clothes like usual and replied, “Probably?”
On the other hand, Samuel gave a wide smile as he said, “Of course. It’s the reunion with the gang! Of course I’ll go.”
Mia Jung, 30 years old, a housewife.
She found a letter inside the freezer of their refrigerator.
“Huh? Did I perhaps leave this here?”
Charlotte Baek, 30 years old, an ordinary office worker.
She found the letter hidden in between the pages of her monthly file report. The envelope slip and she noticed it afterwards.
“What’s this?”
Arjay and Eunice Ahn, 31 years old, a married couple
After they woke up early in the morning, they found two strange black envelopes in the desk besides their bedroom.
“Honey, wake up.”
Arjay gradually woke up and said, “What is it?”
“Did you put these envelopes here?”
“What envelope?”
Clint Goo, 30 years old, a bakery owner
He found the black envelope after opening a sack of flour.
“What in the world? Did I win a lottery or something?”
Angela Kwon, 31 years old, a famous blogger
While editing a photo to be posted, she suddenly noticed a black envelope stuck in the wall where she just photographed herself. She immediately rushed towards that wall and found the black envelope.
“What’s this, it’s freaking me out.”
William Moon, 30 years old, an engineer in KAIST Maturepolis Lab
Found the black letter inside the chemical storage.
“Huh? What’s this thing doing here?”
Benjamin Min and Elissa Hwang, 30 years old, a pilot and a stewardess in Incheon Airport.
As they were preparing their international flight to China, Elissa found her black envelope in one of the business class seats.
“A letter?”
On the other hand, Benjamin found his on top of the airplane controls after entering the pilot’s cockpit.
“Is this for me? How did they enter in here?”
Maris Jang, 31 years old, a famous fashion designer.
As she was busy with her latest collection, she found the black envelope in between the silk fabrics.
“Hmm?”
Liam and Robert Myung, 30 and 31 years old, a famous fantasy writer and a publisher working in the famous Daewon CI Inc., they were both brothers.
While working on his current fantasy novel, Liam was startled after receiving a black envelope on his email account.
“That scared me! What’s this?”
On the other hand, while in the contracted factory, Robert found a black envelope on top of the newest printed books to be published.
“Hmm? What’s this?”
Jennifer Kang, 31 years old, an AV Actress.
After filming an AV in a motel, she noticed a mysterious black envelope on the desk besides the bed.
“What’s this?”
John Park, 30 years old, unemployed.
He received the black letter during the milk delivery every morning. The letter was plastered along with the milk.
“What’s this? A cafe coupon?”
Patricia Lim, 31 years old, a famous idol group manager.
After the idols live concert she was managing, one of the members of the idol group handed her a black envelope.
“Manager, some guy asked me to hand this to you.”
That member handed the black envelope. Patricia opened the envelope and read the letter.
The members were curious about the letters content.
“What’s the content?”
“A love letter perhaps?”
“Oh my! Manager is spring finally here?”
They were highly anticipating her answer however; Patricia coldly answered, “It’s just a reunion invitation.”
Derek Mong, 30 years old, a conglomerate son as well as the acting President of Mong Enterprises
The assistant entered the room holding a strange black envelope in his hand.
“Sir, this arrived early in the morning.”
That assistant handed over the black envelope. Without further ado, Derek read the content of the letter.
“Heh …” A slight grin was seen on the CEO’s face.
“Assistant Park,” he called out.
“Yes sir.”
“Free my schedule for next week.”
“Okay sir.”
All 25 invitations were successfully sent to all students of Class A Batch 2008.
ONE WEEK LATER
They were in a cramped room. As they were busy talking to each other, a sudden question made everyone shiver in confusion.
“By the way, who sent the letters? How in the world did you do it? I got mine inside the freezer of my restaurant.”
“Huh? Me too! I found mine in the cockpit controls before we took off to China.”
“Me too, mine is inside the refrigerator freezer.”
“Huh? I though it’s only me. I found mine inside the flour sack.”
“So who brought the invitations?”
No one responded. After a while, the television placed in front of the room lit and a strange man wearing a weird mask appeared.
“Good evening to each and every one of you present today. Thank you for responding to my sudden request. Now …”
“Shall we start the game?”
