Preface
Mirror Mirror
An Historical Romance
Is my outfit perfection?
My hair done up right
Does my make-up match?
My eyes catch the light?
The mirror says that my chances are slim,
Then he says I’m beautiful…and I believe him.
Are my legs too skinny?
My hips a bit big?
Does my new hairdo,
Look like a fright wig?
The mirror says these things are real
Then he says “I love you”
And that’s not how I feel.
Things seen in a mirror will one day be gone.
But things seen through love are never wrong.
When you’re down on yourself
And things really look grim
Don’t ask the mirror,
Listen to him.
Things seen in a mirror vanish from sight.
But things seen through love are always right.
