Chapter 1
It all happened in a sudden flashing throbbing moment. The car came to a sudden screeching halt. Panic took over her as she realised that her car did hit the man down. She stared ahead with her trembling hands still holding the steering wheel.
She could feel the sweat dripping down her back. She wanted to move. She wanted to pull herself out of the car and do what was necessary. But, her muscles suddenly turned rigid. Sudden dread and a sense of coldness took over her. She could hear the pounding of her heart loud and clear in her ears.
‘Ma, what happened?’
Her daughter’s feeble voice brought her out of her trance. She stared down at the terrified little face beside her.
‘Madam, please step outside’
She was startled by the very loud manly voice. He hit the window with a hefty thwack.
Reluctantly, she stepped out of her car in fear and stared ahead at the crowd that gathered around in front of her car.
‘Take him to the hospital right now. You cant just turn around and leave.’ The man who startled her out of the car screamed out at her.
Every other noise around her suddenly seemed faint. She started walking ahead and pushed her way in through the crowd.
Her heartbeat kept racing, until she saw the most familiar eyes staring back at her, almost lifelessly. She skipped a beat right there.
