The Empire Academy

“Holy shit my head...” I grabbed my head and held it up. Why the hell does my head ache so badly... Why was the room so dark..? Where was I? Why did my head hurt so badly? A small girl jumped down from above what seemed to be my bed. Or apparently our bed. She was small..her hair was curly. Freckles covered her face.

“Heya! I’m Willow! Call me Will. Everybody calls me that heh. I know it’s a boys name but I don’t care!”

I was run over with confusion. I’ve never seen this girl before in my life. She had some sort of uniform on and had a funny accent.

“Well aren’t you adorable you sweet little thing! I’m your roommate! Welcome to The Empire Academy. So? Cmon tell me. What’s your ability?”

“Uh, well, my names Amora... I’m 15 and well uh.. what ability do you mean?”

She gave me a blank look and took the glove off her hand. Holding a cup of water she tried to light it on fire it appeared.

“I can do that. Ya know! Light things on fire.”

I slowly got up and looked at my outfit. Willow and I were wearing the same uniform. My hair seemed to be tied back into some sort of braid.

“Where are we..?”

“Aw honey I told you! Where at the Empire Academy silly.”

My head started to feel better and I noticed we were in a cell looking enclosure with glass windows. The room below was filled with people in rows standing tall in front of a stage. Just like mine, their hair was tied back and were wearing the same uniform.

“Alright alright well who are they?” I pointed to the room out of the window.

“Those are the telekinetic‘s. They read people’s minds. They’re mainly boys but there is one girl. Her names Umia. You’ll meet her later at orientation!”

I felt comfortable around Willow. Even though I only met her five minutes ago, she made me feel protected.

Will picked up some string lights and a bunch of My Chemical Romance posters and began to hang them on the wall.

“Uh what are you doing-?”

“I’m decorating darling! I take it we’re gonna be here a while and there’s a cute boy from storage who brought this stuff here.”

My eyes wondered to the glass wall and I saw kids across the room banging on their glass.

“Wheres the door..?”

Willow pointed to the glass and held her hand on it. A bright screen showed up giving her options on what to do.

Exit dorm

Closet

Lock door

Close curtains

Her finger landed on the exit dorm option and she disappeared.

I quickly pressed it and a blue glow surrounded me transporting me to an elevator. Willow was there dancing along to the music.

“Alright floor one is the cafeteria and library. Classes are on floor two, girls dorms are on three and four and boys dorms are on five and six! Also, training takes place in the field or at the track.”

She pressed the one button and the elevator opened its doors to a big lounge with a high tech cafeteria. Who knew chairs could float...

“You’re probably exhausted after your journey and need some food before you go to see what your element is! Eeeek! I’m so excited for you.”

Will grabbed my hand and sat me down at a table and I was in the floating chair. A menu appeared right after we sat down. I picked it up and tapped the cup of strawberries. A shiny purple robot zoomed over and placed the cup on the table.

“Thank you for dining with us Ms. Amora Green. Here is your cup of strawberries.” The robot rolled away and willow handed me a fork.

“Thanks.” I began eating. These strawberries were so fresh and so good. It’s like I was eating heaven.

“C’mon girl! You’re gonna be late for your meeting with the dean!”

I wiped my mouth with a napkin and threw away my garbage. We passed so many interesting things. I saw a group of girls laying on the couch clearly drunk, braiding each other’s hair. Willow told me to press the seven button and it would take me straight to the deans office.

My finger landed on the button and I waved goodbye to Will.

“Good luck sugar!”
