Chapter 1
When you're the last child the responsibilities of the child before you are dumped on you. Maintaining the house, being at your parent's calling, etc.
In my life its everything plus taking care of a disabled sibling. Because my mother doesn't want to. But with everything that's going on at home, I make sure that everything is fine on the outside.
No one knows the truth because nothing seems wrong. I have to deal with what God gave me and do my part as a sister, student, and myself.
Abuse comes in many forms. It's not always physical...It can be emotionally, mentally, or sexually.
I have gone through it all.
Emotionally my mother puts my feelings aside and says they are bullshit they don't make sense because she doesn't understand it, it doesn't fit what she believes is correct in her mind.
Mentally my nothing she has tried to brainwash me into thinking she is doing her best and she does everything by herself but that is simply not true. She tries to make me believe that my father is a deadbeat.
Sexually my brother has done it multiple times. I was too young to know right for the wrong I thought I was being a good sister. And being good. My mother swept it under the rug and never spoke of it again.
In every scenario, my mother is the start of the abuse. As I grew up I started to gain common sense and realize right from wrong. Stopped being a suck-up to gain her acceptance. I can never be perfect enough for her.
The only acceptance I look for is my dad and myself. I don't live with my dad, unfortunately, he works to give my mom child support so he doesn't have time to hang out so I call him every day, and its enough for me.
In school I'm a great student I get along with my teachers and play sports. I have friends not many but enough for me to stay out of the drama.
My drama had a birth defect and is physically disabled. He can't walk or talk. He makes s9ounds at different pitches so we know what's wrong. Recently he has gotten a feeding tube in his stomach because the flap on his throat works sometimes. He has to get Physical therapy for that.
Oh right, My name is Miranda Roberts. Life is hard but I'm getting through everything day by day. Nothing else I can do.
