Chapter 1

Aranya

Getting yelled by my boss for the nth time this morning. He got me pissed off and I was pretty sure I wasn't the only one in the office annoyed.

I didn't understand what made him so angry that he decided to shout at everyone for the slightest mistakes.

For the past few weeks, everyone has been on their toes just to avoid his wrath. Five people already got fired and I tried my best not to be the next.

This job meant a lot to me and no matter what I couldn't lose it. I stared at the files right in front of me trying to gather all the concentration I had but still to no avail.

My eyes were already droopy and I had already drank three cups of coffee just this morning.

I sat straight and focused on the files. Just a few hours till lunch and I hope to be done with everything.

Dairon

"Of what importance is this girl" Livian asked with a frown across his face.

I rolled my eyes and leaned back into the chair.

She must be of great importance. If not why are they adamant about it .

"If you guys are like this, then she must be important or at least useful"I said resting my hands on the table.

" So what are we supposed to do?" I asked.

Livian let out a small laugh

"We?There is no way I'm putting myself into any of this" he said abruptly before leaving the room.

" Dairon you need to find a way to get her here. " Lady Altheda said before handing me a piece of paper.

" On this paper are a list of places she usually goes to. You might find her in any of this place. Make sure you do not make yourself suspicious no matter what" she warned.

I nodded and looked through the paper. She didn't have a number of places she usually went to. Only a few

"Just be careful" she added.

Lunch time came fast and I was done with nearly everything. I headed to the nearest cafe to the company where I worked in. I met Kat there already as usual.

We both complained the same thing. The new air in the company. She was completely annoyed and I almost thought she could kill the food.

" I can't wait to go home " she said as she sipped her juice. She talked about her experiences recently and I talked about mine.

We didn't have good ones and I could only imagine myself snuggled up in bed.

Heading home after a long day I decided to buy some takeouts as I was too tired to prepare anything when I get home. Struggle with my bag I bumped into someone.

"Sorry" the guy said and helped me pick up my stuffs. I was relieved that my food didn't get scattered around.

"It's okay" I said taking my things from him

"I'm really sorry,it's just that it's my first time here and I find it hard to find this location" he said with a smile.

" Could you help me? He added.

I began to feel uneasy after he said those but it was his first time here and I couldn't leave him lost on the streets.

Besides it was close to my apartment. There's no harm in that.

You don't even know him..

I pushed away any other negative thoughts and decided to help him. We walked and shared a lot of experiences with each other and soon I felt dizzy before I blacked out.

PARIS IN THE DARK

Hester: Very good, was short too the point , not lingering on the abuse, pity you didn’t let him step in earlier knowing the abuse was happening, but this is almost real for some women who have gone through it, just wish they could all have a princess at te end of thete tunnel

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
