The beginning of it all

An enormous cloud of red fog covers the small town of Paramo, as thousands of ravens fly on the sky above. Aira Moretti could see from her bedroom window the chaos happening on the town cathedral. Two days ago, eight tall men in a white cloak broke into the house of her neighbor Jacelyn, a fae, and took her by force cuffing her and throwing her in a black van, they worked for The Ecclesiast. Exactly twelve months ago, The Ecclesiast arrived to town by request of the local clergy, they claimed to have the power to purify and save the people from such demons, it’s how they called any magical creature. The town did not use to have a clergy. Mr. Rousse, the town’s mayor, decided it would be good for his campaign to name a clergy in a town mostly polytheist.
Paramo is a small town of the island Icala well known for having supernatural creatures. Victorian houses cover the whole town in bright colors with beautiful gardens full of dazzling flowers and exotic bushes. In the center, it has its own market and the citizens of the town have their own stores. The people are happy and live their own lives, keeping each other’s secrets, everyone knows everything. Only those who live in Paramo know of the three territories. The town is divided in territories and own by the most powerful. The Grey House, the first region, owned by Tula a powerful Hav or Ocean witch, taking place in the west coast of the city, they are mostly Hav witches, fae and some elves. Crow Mountain territory is owned by the Harris Family, located on the south side, where the Moretti family lives. It is most populated and well known for its freedom and Nature Witches, faeries, dwarfs, and gnomes. Finally, is Blue Moon on the north divided by vampires and werewolves. Before living in Paramo, each citizen must sign a peace treaty and agree to live a peaceful life. Icaria and Omana are the surrounding territories and other towns of Icala. These two have become mostly ghost territory, nobody lives there anymore, and Paramore is the last town left, The Ecclesiast have burned each town in the end.
Aira’s family come from a powerful line of White Witches, even though they have never belonged to a coven, they know every kind of witchcraft. Her mother used to say, “Being in a coven limits your art and liberty to learn and practice witchcraft.” Two years ago, Aira’s mother was murdered, she was found in a pit close to a rivals market, no one knows what happens, although her nan blames The Grey House, a coven of witches her mother hated. Since The Ecclesiast arrival her grandmother and aunt were packing everything and slowly moving everything into the Enchanted Forest up North. It was a risky move but needed to be done, it was only a matter of time before these men entered their house and discovered everything they had.
