A Poem For Someone Who Cares

I was someone.

However, things change quickly.

Smiles turn to grimaces,

What was once happiness is now empty.

I’m nobody.

I was forgotten.

I wish I was beautiful, strong, and creative.

Toughness isn’t enough, I’m not strong.

I lose courage.

Underneath, I refuse to let anyone in.

I push away,

“Go away”, I say.

I spread the magic of life,

Uncertain, terrified but everything falls back into place.

I fall back into pieces.

There is no magic.

I drain the blood,

First my fingers,

My forearms next.

The jackknife fits between my thoughts,

I am no more.

mariedavismd312: This was Avery spiritual read. The last 2 chapters where very disappointing. That was such a let down unless there is a sequel. Burgess should have been punished for what he did. There was no explanation for his hatred for Jeremiah. I figured he was being set but just had the wrong person. I loved ...
