Chapter 1
In my hands..
In my hands lied your throat, my love. How I wish things could have been resolved with a kiss rather than a slit, but you've always preferred violence over affection and I, subconsciously, followed your steps. Are you proud of me, love?
I am proud of myself, Daniel.
Elena lied on her fancy bloody chair decorated with the skulls of her ten former lovers as she drunk a glass of wine while starring at the icy meadow outside her window. It was a calm winter day in Alaska where the sun hardly disturbs her peace. On the contrary of the popular belief around Rosellet town-people, Elena is not a vampire nor a witch, she's just a high ranking human-hunter.
A human hunter is a demon who has supernatural abilities that makes them superior to humans, and so, they hunt humans on a supervised basis to keep a natural balance.
Elena wasn't just holding a wine glass, in her other hand she held the freshly extracted throat of Beatrice, her last husband's mistress. It was warm and charming to her eyes. The blood dripping on her white dress was an ecstatic experience for her, enough to make her laugh in joy forgetting that she has just killed her husband.
"My, oh my..What a mess.." She sighed, taking a sip of the wine glass as she took it beneath the throat, letting a few drops of blood into it.
"That's tasty. Beatrice, you're truly beautiful inside and out. Such a shame I couldn't just walk away." Elena said as she took a sip of her wine-blood mixture and throw Beatrice's throat into an open chest beside her.
The taste was unearthly for her.
Her bloody session went on for an hour before she disposed of the bodies easily and left only the throat in her collection. That chest contained almost a hundred throat of men, women and even children. Elena had a strange passion towards throats and kept skulls as a trophy. Her house consisted of ancient precious paintings, human-like dolls, ornaments and incense to hide the human filth smell.
You would ask yourself, how does that creature live in a gallery of human remains yet go on living in a town without ever being caught or questioned. The answer was easy.
Elena's town-people were her own slaves,
but they are aware of this fact. Elena's bloodline is that of the strongest human hunters to ever exist. Charming demons who steal the hearts of humans and once they subdue their minds, they could easily wipe every single memory of the existence of these people as if they never existed.
Its time for Elena to pick a new lover.
Rosellet was a quiet town buried in the white lands of Alaska. Inhabited by a population of about nine hundred people, there were hardly any visitors due to the cruel environment surrounding it.
In the heart of the two, there was a bar run by a young man named Amir not older than twenty-five. Amir was handsome, desired by the ladies of the town and even chased by them. He was ambitious and elegant and took his work seriously. He was engaged to a young woman whose wedding was scheduled to be next summer and the two were madly in love, happy endings for a little town boy was never impossible.
"When will we get to wear suits and tuxedos, Amir?" Laughed an old man sitting in the bar, almost drinking himself to death.
"Its happening soon! I'd love to see you sober that day, Jon." Amir said as he walked towards the old man whose name is Jon. Jon was a compulsive drinker with a large debt to repay to the entire town. Chances of this man getting murdered anytime soon was skyrocketing, but he drunk himself to the point he forgot it.
Behind the bar, listening to every word Amir said was Tress, the bartender. Tress was Amir's childhood friend and the one who actually managed everything so Amir could study for the college he wanted to leave for with his soon-to-be wife. She was a tall strong girl with braided dirty blond hair falling over her shoulder and blue eyes that never fell off Amir.
She loved him.
"Hey Tress, is everything going okay today?" Amir asked, jumping on the chair in front of her, Tress' heart suddenly started to beat like a drum. Amir starred at her with his enchanting brown eyes that had a strong spell on Tress ever since they were children. Those eyes once gave her warmth and love, now they give her torment and pain.
"Y-yeah..It's cool.." Tress said as she cleaned the wine glasses and decided to turn around in attempt to not face those strong eyes.
"Is it all cool with your studying?" Tress said, still not facing him.
"Yeah, I think so. Its a lot stressful than I thought it would be.." Amir sighed.
"Don't w-worry, you can handle it.." Tress said as she turned around and smiled at Amir, giving him a little bit of reassurance as she knew how stressful life has been on her bestfriend.
As the two stayed silent for a little bit, a young man by the age of the two had entered the bar and joined their conversation. He was Kelly, their friend.
"Fuck Tuesday, I just hate it! Pour anything for me, Tress" Kelly said, throwing a tantrum as he sat down beside Amir.
"You'll drink in daylight? That's not like you at all.." Tress said. She still took his order but poured him a glass of apple juice, which he mistaken for booze.
"I'm just done with Jane and her husband's bullshit!" Kelly said nervously as he chugged the entire cup in one go, realizing its apple juice after finishing.
"What the hell, Tress?!" He shouted, Amir pinched him but Tress still laughed anyway. "That's all I have now." She laughed, and he was clearly still pissed off.
"What's up with Jane and her husband?" Amir asked, Kelly sighed and looked back at him.
"She keeps throwing him out of the house claiming that he cheated on her with this weird vampire lady! It's non-sense! Jeffery hardly goes outside his workshop, but she insists." Kelly said.
"Oh, Elena is her name, right?" Tress asked, Kelly nodded.
"I heard she's married though." Amir said, Kelly nodded once again.
"She's married and even has a ring but I just can't remember who she's married to for some reason." As Kelly said, the door was violently opened, alerting all those present.
"Speaking of the devil.." Tress muttered as Elena came in with her fancy clothes and clicking heels, she dressed so elegantly that all the men's jaw dropped to the ground. Amir looked for a second but ignored her, Kelly starred like an idiot.
"Fuck, now I get why Jane is mad" Kelly said, Amir laughed but Tress was visibly jealous from Elena's beauty.
"Damn, she's late.." Amir sighed as he looked at his clock in frustration, Tress went to take Elena's order who sat not so far away from them, letting her long hair shield he face from the darting glances of the men.
"Who? Beatrice?" Kelly said.
"Yeah, we are going on a date today, Beatrice is always careless when it comes to remembering dates." Amir said, looking around him for his fiance.
As Elena heard Beatrice's name, she uncontrollably laughed and looked at Amir's worried face. Tress served her and went out to search for something leaving Elena's eyes glaring at Amir.
"Not only do you taste good, but your taste in men is good too, Beatrice. Perhaps I might want to try something new."
As Amir went to search for his fiance, Beatrice. Elena decided to keep the memory of the slaughtered woman alive for a reason only she knows, but her eyes had already picked a new lover.
