Intro
I knew I was at school. Usually I just needed a little score to get through the seemingly never ending hours of the day. Today felt as if it were going in super slow motion. This would help, right? It usually did. But this time was different. This time, there wouldn’t be a next time and all the ‘other times’ would be completely irrelevant. I felt the ground beneath my knees as I fell to the cold hard floor of the bathroom. My eyes drifted shut, showing me darkness. There was a quick change in the things I smelt as well. I smelled not the caramelized onions in the kitchen anymore but instead the pungent odor of death and blood, with a hint of a familiar ocean scent. Beachy but also foresty. I could hear someone crying and another person attempting to calm them. I was cold even though I felt the weight of blankets on me. Then machines started beeping and alarms started screaming loudly in the room. A man was yelling for help. It all sounded painful. I squeezed my eyes shut tightly until I was swept away by the tranquilizing beauty of the darkness. The ink of my mind.
