Chapter 1

“There’s nothing. Nothing but darkness...where am I? What’s happening? It’s so cold here,” A young male voice said.

“Come, to me...child,” Said a chuckling voice.

The young boy heard another groan and he looked down to see another person stuck in the same situation as him. But he was stunned when he saw that the person wasn’t like him, instead she was blue as water and ses through like glass. Somehow, she had the looks like a girl. Almost the same age as him. 20 years old. The boy gasped as he saw her getting up.

“Come here my precious child. Come to me...you and your little friend shall be mine.”

“What’s going on?” The girl groaned painfully as she stood up.

“We need to get out of here!” The boy told her.

“What?! Why? What’s happening?” The girl asked.

“Come here kiddies!” The monster of the dark told them.

“What’s that?!” The girl asked him.

“I don’t know. But we’re not staying here to find out,” The boy said as he grabbed her hand and started running.

The girl looked back and all she saw was darkness. But she saw something bright. Something like light. But...where was it coming from? When she looked down, she screamed in terror. She pulled on the boy's arm and grabbed him by the shirt. The boy looked at her.

“What happened to me?! Tell me!!” The girl told him.

“I don’t know,” the boy replied.

“Tell me the truth!!” The girl shouted at him.

The boy stood up and pushed himself away from her.

“I’m telling you the truth. I don’t know! I heard you groaning and that’s how I found you! Look, we can’t start fighting in someplace that’s not safe, and especially when we don’t know each other!” The boy told her.

“Is this a joke?! Are you lying to me?! Who are you?” The girl asked him.

“We don’t have the time for this!!”The boy told her.

“Why?! Why don’t we have enough time for you to explain yourself?! Huh? Smart guy?” The girl asked him irritatedly.

“Look, do you want to be eaten alive by the horrifying monster that’s trying to catch us?” The boy asked him.

“No,” the girl replied.

“Then let’s go,” the boy told her as he grabbed her arm and ran deeper into the dark.

The girl looked at him, as they continued to run.

“Come here, kiddies,” the monster of the dark said.

“What is that?” The girl asked him.

“That’s the monster of the darkness. He feeds on fear, so if you don’t want to get caught, trust me, and follow me. Okay?” The boy told her.

“Alright,” the girl said as she nodded.

“Come here! Don’t you run away from me!!” The monster shouted angrily.

Both the boy and girl woke up panting with fear, in their apartments.

“Ring! Ring!”

The boy looked down and noticed that his mother was calling him. He picked up his phone and answered.

“Hello?” The boy said.

“Do you know what time it is, Evan?!” Mrs. Cornell shouted at him.

“6:30?” Evan replied as he looked at his alarm.

“Exactly! And you said that you’d be here by 6am sharp, for family time!” Mrs. Cornell shouted at him.

“Sorry mom. I’ll get ready and head over there right away,” Evan replied as he hopped off the bed.

“Well hurry up, before Oliver beats you here,” Mrs. Cornell told him.

Evan gasped.

“Oh no he won’t!” Evan said as he ran to his closet to pick out some nice clothes.

“Hahaha! See you here baby!” Mrs. Cornell told him.

“Bye mom. See you in a bit!” Evan said as he hung up and through his phone onto his bed.

Evan slipped on his black pants, then a green shirt, tied his lucky red bandana around his neck, put his belt on, grabbed his jacket, put his nicest shoes on, grabbed his phone, and keys, and ran out the door.
