Chapter 1
A MOTHER’S PRIDE
A lion saw his lunch in a little antelope
For he had a prey in his sight
His mind driving him to slaughter
He sneaked and sneaked, closer he went
Unknowing to the prey For it was still sleeping
The lion pounced on his prey For he thought he had won
But before he knew He was jabbed by an antelope’s horn
He was caught unaware For he did not know
That the little antelope had his mother
To shield him from danger and foe. Injured and defeated
He strode away For he knew He had lost today
