Chapter 1
It was a bright sunny morning and a soft breeze was blowing too. The atmosphere was filled with the scent of spring. It was very quiet and peaceful when suddenly the door of a library opened. A tall girl entered.
She was quite fair and had sharp features. She had cat-eyed glasses. She wore a white t-shirt and a pair of jeans and sneakers. Her beautiful long hair was tied up in a messy bun which made her appearance even cuter. Her name was Jennifer Cooper aka Jennie. She was a high schooler and an introvert. Her parents had passed away when she was 10 years old and so she shouldered a lot of responsibilities. She did not like socializing with people and had found her world in the books.
She went straight to the librarian’s desk and said - ” Good morning Mrs. Brigades, sorry to disturb you but yesterday I asked for a book about myths has the book arrived?” ” Yes, Jennie but I have never seen a young highschooler like a book of myths. I have been working here for 25 years and you are the first” said Mrs. Brigades handing over the book to her.“Trust me ma’am I am not like other kids ” answered Jennie in a tone filled with attitude and then walked straight to the history section of the library.
Soon another girl entered the library. Her name was Belle. She was of the same height as Jennie. She wore a Graffiti t-shirt and a pair of shorts and sneakers. She had long hair that fell on her shoulders in quills. She was the opposite of Jennie. Just by looking at her anybody could tell that she was an extrovert. She was quite loud and so the librarian didn’t like her at all. Jennie and Belle were studying together in the same high school and were best friends more like sisters. Belle asked in her loud voice” Hey, Mrs. Brigades nice to see you here may I ask where can I find Jennie?” “Oh my goodness how can you be so loud it’s a library, not your home Belle. Leave it it’s no use telling you all of it because every time you forget about keeping your voice down and as per Jennie you would probably find her in the History section” said Mrs. Brigades making her face of disgust.
Belle shouted Jennie’s name when she ran towards the history section. Jennie knew that the only person shouting was none other than Belle so she decided not to waste her energy by responding to her calls.
Belle saw Jennie leaning on one of the bookshelves. She sat in front of her and said - ” finally here you are; You know I have good news for you and I am sure after listening to this you would be so happy that you would give me a treat in the ice cream parlor near your house.” “And why will I do that Belle?” Asked Jennie still reading a book. “You remember our school had planned an educational trip to Germany to study it’s
History?” “Yes I do” replied Jennie without any emotions. “And you remember Shawn Rutherford from class 9 grade B whom you had a secret crush on?” Asked Belle mysteriously. Jennie shut her book and replied, ” Yes I remember him, what’s with him?” “He is also coming with us on the trip!!!” told Belle with a big smile on her face. Jennie’s face turned pink. She sat still without uttering a single word. But just by looking at her face Belle knew what were Jennie’s feelings even though she did not express much.
