huh? where am i?

i look around just to see nothing but darkness

″what the hell??!″

i said shouting into pure silence, my voice echoed, giving me goosebumps as i suddenly spot a figure, confused i shouted out to the figure

‘hello!’

..no response..

it very dark but i managed to walk up towards them, the figure was facing away from me and looked like a female about the age of mine, i slowly put my hand on their shoulder but before i could say anything i hear a

‘bing’! ’bing! ‘bing!’

i slowly open my eyes to see my alarm next to me, shouting that annoying noise, quickly realizing that i was dreaming

‘ugh why does my alarm have to ruin everything’

i muttered as i reached to the alarm to switch it off, i slowly stood up from my bed and let out a long yawn

″bailey″!

my mom said as she opened the door,

″wake up, get ready for school″

″i’m already up ma″

i said with my eyes full of tiredness, she walks towards me and asks-

″what happened? you look so tired and sleepy?? did you not sleep last night?″

″no ma, it’s just...i had a lot of h.w and stuff to do and i’m really tired from that″ i replied

″why don’t you take some time to rest?″ she says as she tries to fix my hair

she lets go of my hair and looks at the time on the clock and says-

″but we can talk about that later, for now go and get ready fast! you already woke up late!″she says as she rushed out of my room

my mom was always such a busy person, she always had something to do and barely spends time with me, i get it that she wants the best for me but...i just want to spend time with her, even an hour spending time with her could be very special to me, i take a long sigh and walk towards the bathroom to get ready, i brushed my teeth, combed my brown wavy hair, did my makeup and picked some light blue jeans and a cute deep green sweater, i take a look at the time and realized

‘oh good lord! i’m late!’

i immediately rushed downstairs towards the kitchen to get something to eat on the way and saw some toasted bread on a plate, it had a note next to it saying-

″don’t be late hun, take some of these on you way to school, love~mom″

she left for work already but it was always special getting these notes in the kitchen with tasty food next to them, i took one toasted bread and bit on to it as i rushed to get in time and not miss the bus again, i rushed out of the kitchen and left the house, and guess what? the bus just left, i saw it driving away from my house, i couldn’t process what was happening and just started shouting and running towards the bus,

″hey wait! i’m here!″

as i started shouting, the toasted bread that i held on my mouth fell down, i stopped running and looked down to see my food on the dirty ground, my neighbor- mrs. kelsy was was staring at me, while she was was walking her dog across the street, i mean i couldn’t blame her- wouldn’t you be staring too if there was a crazy looking teenage girl running and screaming towards the bus?

″could this day get any worse?″i said with disappointment

the bus has already left and here i am, being an idiot

″now i have to walk to school, life just hates me huh?″

i muttered as i started walking

10 minutes pass

″finally, fucking finally″

exhausted, i finally reached school,

″my legs feel numb already″ i thought as i slowly walked towards my class

but for some reason my vision got blurrier, i felt my stomach growl, i walked in a weird way

as i kept on walking towards my class my vision got blurrier and blurrier every step i took, my legs couldn’t move or stand anymore and i ended up seeing only black.....silence..complete silence

″this is it huh? this is how i die, by forgetting to eat breakfast and walking to school? i always knew i wasn’t a sporty person but i never knew i was this bad″

i was all alone with my thoughts in pitch darkness

then suddenly i hear someone calling my name-

″bailey!″ ″bailey wake up!!″

i open my eyes to see a cute looking girl, she had beautiful slightly curly black hair, with beautiful brown eyes, she looked around my age, she kept on calling my name

″huh?″ i said confused

″finally! your awake! you almost gave me a panic attack″ she said with relief

″what happened??″ i look around to see that i’m on a small white bed

suddenly the school nurse comes in through the door, she was holding some sheets of paper in her hands

″oh bailey, your already awake, that’s good″ she also said with relief

she keeps all the sheets on a desk next to me

i looked at the girl you kept on calling my name and asked-

″why am i here?″ ″what happened?″

″well i wanted to go to the restroom and left the class just to see you laying on the floor in front of the class, i panicked and rushed back, told the teacher, she told me to stay in class and that she’s gonna call the nurse and she left, i was kinda worried about you, i wanted to check up on you to see how your doing″ she seemed kinda nervous and embarrassed when she said that

″oh um..thank you! what’s was your name again? i replied as i slowly stand up from the white bed

″oh haha, my name is ava, ava davis. i’m in your chemistry class she said

before i could say anything, the nurse suddenly joins the conversation, i totally forgot she was there

″bailey, did you eat anything today?″ she says with her arm crossed

i remembered the toasted bread situation but i wasn’t about to tell her that, they’ll think i’m an idiot! so i lied

″oh..umm well i-i forgot to eat breakfast″

i was such a bad liar, but somehow the nurse believed it

″well don’t forget your breakfast next time! you passed out because you were very hungry and tired!! the nurse scolded me

″well your teacher knows about this so no need to worry about that but you do need to eat food before you go to class, i don’t want you to pass out again″ the nurse said

″umm.. i didn’t bring anything to eat, i don’t eat anything at school″ i replied

″well..i could give you some of my lunch″ ava said

″oh that’s not neede-

″very well then, ava you could go and bring some of your lunch here″ the nurse stopped me before i could even finish my sentence

ava rushed out of the room to get some lunch for me

it was me and the nurse now, silence....

she was writing some things down on the some sheets of paper while i was sitting on the white bed

″doesn’t your mother know that you forgot to eat your breakfast?″ said the nurse

″..she goes to work early and keeps food in the kitchen, i just forgot to eat it today″ i replied

″oh...okay then″ the nurse replied as she continued to write, i could see that she was surprised for some reason?

a few moments of silence come until the nurse breaks the silence again

″i thought your mother doesn’t have a job?′ she asked

″oh she found a new job 2 weeks ago and she’s been quite busy..heh″ i replied

″what’s your mom’s job?′

″her job is..″

i stopped my sentence

i..i don’t know what my mom’s job is, she never told me what it was and i never wanted to bother her by asking..

i remained silent

″do you not know what your mom’s job is?″ the nurse asked as she continued writing on the sheets of paper

″i..i don’t know″ i replied embarrassed

what type of daughter doesn’t know what their parents job is and doesn’t even ask?

″hmm interesting″ the nurse said

suddenly ava blasts into the room,

i’m back! so sorry for being late! ava says as she takes a deep breath

″oh ava your finally here, what took you so long?″ the nurse asked her

″i honestly don’t know″ she replied ″here you go bailey″ she lends me some apples and other types of fruits

i thanked her as i took a piece of apple and took a bite, it’s been a while since i ate any fruits so it felt quite refreshing, she took some too and we ate together and chatted, it was honestly quite cute

″after you both finish eating, head to class okay?″ the nurse says as she leaves the room

″we will!″ replied ava

″so ava, what’s your next class?″ i asked

″Maths, what about yours?″ she replied

″aww man, mines English″ i said with disappointment ″i wanted both of ours class together″

ava looked confused and surprised

″wait...am i your friend?″ she asked nervously

″umm DUH! you literally gave me your lunch, how am i not gonna be your friend?″ i said with a huge smile

″oh yeah..haha, i never had any friends, so this is quite new″ i saw that see was quite sad when she said that

″ i guess you should head to class now or the nurse might scold you″ she said

″oh yeah..see you later ava!″ i give her a quick wave as i quickly stood up from the bed and rushed out of the nurses office

i head to my next class- english class

i slowly open the door to see my english teacher- mrs.kenny

″ah there you are! go take a seat″ the teacher said to me as she was writing on the board

she didn’t ask anything about where i was, i guess the nurse told her

i headed towards my seat and sat, i look around to see all the other students were either chatting with each other or sleeping, usually most of my classes were like this. i take out a small piece of paper from my note book and i started doodling on it, i try to doodle whatever i could think of but nothing came to my head-

″hey bailey!″

i almost jumped out of my seat, i turn around to see my ″best friend″ in a seat behind me

i didn’t even realize she was sitting there

″oh hi..kelsy″

i really didn’t need her to be here right now

″why didn’t you see me?? i was here the whole time?!″ she said with her bratty voice

″look, i’m tired okay? i don’t want to argue again″ i said

she always ruins my mood, makes me do stuff for her and makes fun of me while i’m not there. i honestly don’t know why i’m still friends with her anymore

″your honestly, the most worst best friend ever″ she said

she then turns the other way to talk to her so called ″friends″

″sure bitch″ i muttered

i wish i could slap her but i’m sure to get in trouble since she’s ″the rich bitch″ ugh

i continue doodling on my paper as i suddenly remember ava, all my bad thoughts flies away when i think about her, i start to sketch a drawing of ava, she’s so pretty!

i felt butterflies in my stomach, i was pretty confused for why i’m feeling this? could it be....i like her?.... no no no, i just met her, i’ve been watching way too much romantic movies
