Waking to the banging sound of a hammer beating the hot steel, I slowly rub my eyes and yearned as I rose from my bed,

I take a walk outside the room to see my dad forging a sword,

" morning Dad " I greeted

" hay boy, might wanna hurry, if your still going that is" he said whipping the sweat from his face.

" what, why didn't you wake me " I argued in surprise

" because its a bad idea" he mumbled

" well I'm going any way"

And I passed him and went to To the bathroom and get myself cleaned up.

As soon as I finish cleaning up I darted off down the hill, from where I could see the entire kingdom.

I arrived at the barracks just in time for the verati army exam, there were hundreds of people standing outside the huge gate, and inside, was the huge exam ground

" Hayden, your late!!! " one of the exam invigilators shouted

" actually I'm right on time " I said

" hurry and get your gear smart ass" he shouted again

I ran inside the barrack and took a sword and an armor emblem and rushed back out, and before I got in the crowd, wezlion the invigilator grabbed my arm, " no joking around out there, you'll get seriously hurt if you let your guard down, you hear me " he warned me

" don't worry about it, I got this " I said confidently

" alright, now get in there and bus some heads " he said then patted me on the back.

" ok everyone, ehum.. " another invigilator cleared his throat "could you keep the noise to a minimum Please " he said with his shy voice,

and it was like he didn't said anything at all, everyone just kept talking.

" I SAID QUIET " he yelled with a heavy, rough voice that shook everyone into silence, it was a surprise to everyone how his voice change so dramatically.

" as I was saying.............., the exam will start in one hour, make sure to use that hour to scatter yourselves properly, the rules of this exam are quite simple, knock the fuck out of ten people and take their emblem and you pass, a green light will flash on your armor and create a shield around you so you can walk out " and suddenly the gate started to open

" get your asses on the field, but be warned, there's no place here for pussies, cause once this gate closes, it doesn't opens until the next 40 hours, begin!!!!!! "

" yaaaahhhhh " we rushed inside leaving no one behind, seems everyone wants to be a verati warrior.

Planet maxim my home planet, over 15 times the size of earth although it has no close stars, the nebula surrounding it lit up the sky

The trees on maxim are really huge and they produce their own light as well so the place was quite bright,

Our day lasted for 40 hours and that's because the plants only produce light when they are awake, and sleep for 10 hours, thats how long the night was, although night wasn't all that dark because of the nebula light.

The population of maxim was over 50 billion, and there was only two landmass called ajar and vulsa

And separating them was valu, the great ocean, which is inhabited by the axiom, a race of aquatic people.

All this beautiful features of the planet yet war occurs often between the five nations, kapa kingdom, mäya kingdom, Flores empire, yatti tribe, and the one I'm from, the verati empire and the largest of them all.

You can say we are a race of warriors.

Anyways, everyone was given an hour to scatter into the field, it was a huge Forest with tons of hiding place and traps.

While running I then placed the armor emblem on my arm and from there an armor formed on me, and now the war begins.

" hay Hayden " zaria called, I was standing by the edge of a waterfall that flows sparkling water, talking a drink when I heard her, she was as beautiful as ever, gold colour eyes and curly hair with flawless skin.

"Look who decided to show up, thought you weren't gonna come" I looked at her and wipe the water from my mouth,

" had a change of heart " she replied

" I doubt that " I whispered

" huh " she wondered what I just said

" huh, nothing, so ahh, what now " I asked

" we should team up, make thing easier for each other don't you think "

" and why would I agree to that" I questioned sarcastically with a smile

" it's for the good of both of us, at least think about it " she explained and begged me

" OK ill think about it "I said

" great " she said excitement

" and the answer is no " I replied

" Hayden " she said with a sigh "come on why not "

" Zaria let's not do this right now, you knew what you did, so don't act like all is forgotten and forgiven "

" OK OK, I get it " she sighed

" I admit that what I did was selfish, and I betrayed you in the worst way possible, but saying sorry isn't enough anymore, that why I wanna help, to try and make up for what I did "

I then walked up to her face, " why should i believe a word u say "

" because I meant what i said, and if you still don't trust me i understand, you have every reason not to, but at least give me a chance to prove myself "

" OK, fine "then I stepped pass her " there's a cave up ahead, if we hurry we get there in an hour "

She then smiled and followed me.

8 hours has passed since the start of the exam, and me and Zaria were in the cave wondering, I took off my armor and sat down in front of a small fire roasting a rodent I caught crawling around,

.meanwhile Zaria was practicing her moves with the mace,

" hay take a bite " I insisted

She then stopped and take the roast meat and started munching,

" we leave In a few minutes, get ready " I mentioned

And before I Even got up from the floor an arrow flew right by me and landed in the wall.

" get down " I called to Zaria and three more arrows flew by,

I grabbed my armor emblem and quickly put it on

" can you see how many of them " I asked

" just one " she said while looking at the reflection of a metal plate on the back of her hand

" ha, easy peasy " I laughed and got up to attack,

And all of a sudden, from our of nowhere 6 more arrow came flying at me.

" wow " I yelled as Zaria pulled me back down

" what the hell were u thinking " she scolded me

" what?, it was one guy "

" seriously, that was clearly an ambush, what we need to figure out is a way to escape " she further added.

" yea right " I replied " so what's the plan " I then asked

" plan!!?, I was hoping for a miracle " Zaria stated

And a miracle we got indeed,

Immediately after Zaria said that we hear blades clashing outside the cave,

" what the.." I wondered

And as I looked outside there he was, battling those seven guys.

" just great, its Logan" I said " let's go say hello shall we "

" wait Hayden no.. " Zaria whispered trying yo stop me but I already ran outside, " great " she sighed

As I ran into battle two of the guys were already down for The count leaving five against three,

I charged at the one that was aiming his arrow at Logan but he couldn't fire because he didn't wanna risk shooting his partner, he spotted me incoming and released at me instead, and with my quick reflexes I dodged it and dived at him, wrap my hands around his waist and both of us landed on the ground.

I raised my hand in the air to punch him but he raised his foot to my chest and kick me off, eventually landing on my back and hit my head on the ground, a striking pain flashes though my head and I shut my eyes tightly as the pain was severe,

I held the back of my head as the pain fades away and opened my eyes to see Zaria to my right kicking the hell out of one of the guys balls and knocking him unconscious with her mace.

The guy i was fighting quickly got up and started coming at me with a wooden club, I hastily grab my sword and blocked it right before hitting me in the face.

the sword was now stick in the club so he couldn't pull it back, I then push my sword to the right and along with it he goes, and as my right hand was free, I punched him in the face, that stunned him enough to give me time to get up and gave him another right hook that knocked him out cold.

By the time I was done only one was left, he was so scared he took his armor emblem off and trow it at me and ran,

" look at that, thank " I said

" didn't know you had it in you hayden " logan complimented me

" yea me neither " I replied

Then the tension in the air grew stronger as the the three of us stood there for while in silence.

" so I see you two are back together " logan said

" whats that supposed to mean "

I questioned

" wait, zaria didn't tell you " he said

" tell me what!? " I looked at Zaria

" we broke up a few days ago " she said

" what the hell Zaria " I said in frustration

" I didn't think it was important " she said

" you didn't think!!, I don't see you for weeks and you just show up days after you broke up saying you want to make things up to me!, seems like you just ran to me when you have no one left "I started quarreling

" of course not Hayden" Zaria says

" then where were you " I demanded an answer, but she kept quiet

" oh I forgot your the princess, don't need a reason to do wat you do huh "

" guy keep the small talk for later what the hell are those " Logan pointed to the sky,

We all turned to look for a while,

Until they they got closer,

" the hell, are those space ships " Zaria knowingly ask

" this can't be good " I stated.
