TAMIA
TAMIA
How long can one-person talk? Tamia sighed, trying her best not to look out the window at the beautiful blue sky and moving clouds. Why is he still talking? This is what she got. Everyone said she was beautiful enough to be a model at 5’8” with caramel skin, long black hair, and slanted eyes. Did she listen? No! She wanted to show the world she was more than just a pretty face.
Every month and twice each quarter, she regretted her decision to become a certified public accountant. Having to sit through these boring meetings. Her boss was still droning on and on about this quarter’s performance. Her eyes slowly shifted to the floor and then to the ceiling windows. Her gaze lingered outside the window for only a moment before she refocused on the meeting. She knew better than to be caught slipping. Plenty of people wanted her job as Associate Vice President. As the only black woman in upper management, she had to stay on top of her game.
After what seemed like an eternity, they finally broke for lunch. She wanted to run screaming from the building but thought that might be a bit dramatic. The minute she exited the building and felt the wind against her face, she relaxed. She moved her long legs very quickly, headed to her favorite little deli, which was only a couple blocks down. She made it to the deli ordered her favorite sandwich, a corned beef Rueben, and was heading back to the office when the wind picked up briskly. She looked around but no one else seemed to notice. She did not remember seeing anything on the nightly news about high winds. Yet she felt like she was in her own personal tornado. The wind was swirling all around her. She felt it on her face, moving under her skirt, against her stocking- clad legs. She felt the wind scraping against her right shoulder blade, swirling, and moving. A moment of sharp pain at her shoulder blade and then the wind vanished. Her heart was racing, and her hands were shaking. What had just happened to her? It must have been only in her mind because when she looked up, she was back at her office building.
She returned to the meeting with a few minutes to spare but unlike that morning when she desperately wanted to gaze out the window, her concentration was broken by a tingling in her right shoulder blade.
After work, Tamia raced through the door of her eleventh-floor condo, rushing to her bedroom. She stripped down to her bra and panties and walked over to the floor length mirror, where she turned around slowly, afraid to see what was on her shoulder. Her eyes widened as she noticed a mark that looked like three swirling circles. “What the hell!” She knew her body well and knew that when she left for work this morning, she did not have this mark! It had the appearance of a beautiful tattoo, but she did not have any tattoos. She wanted one but was a big baby when it came to pain. She used her left hand to reach over her right shoulder to touch the spot. It was real but how did it get there? She removed her remaining pieces of clothing and jumped in the shower. Maybe it was just dirt. She scrubbed herself down from head to toe, but the mark was still there. With a deep sigh, she decided to let this mystery go until after she ate.
Belly full, she looked around her spacious condo. With an open floor plan, she could take in everything at once. Her beautiful kitchen with stainless-steel appliances, her elegant formal dining room that she never used, and her large living room with modern furniture. She fell in love with the place when she walked through the door and saw the floor-to-ceiling windows that led out to the balcony. When she saw the second balcony off the master suite, it was a done deal.
She refused to rely on her looks to get her the things in this world that she wanted. She worked during high school and then worked her way through college, where she graduated with honors before working her way up the corporate ladder. Getting her master’s degree and CPA license along the way.
Tamia tried to be smart with her money and had saved up a nice nest egg. She decided to sit on her luxurious couch, one of the few things she had splurged on for her home, with a wine glass in her hand and the wine bottle sitting on the table As a thirty-five-year-old single woman, she hadn’t done too bad for herself. With her busy work schedule, she did not have a lot of free time. She couldn’t remember the last time she had been on a date and knew if she tried to recall the last time she had had sex, she might need a second bottle of wine to dull the realization of just how long it had been. The only person who touched her private parts was her and, sadly enough, she was sometimes too tired to touch them. She wanted to find her knight in shining armor but with every promotion, her job required more and more of her time. She worked long hours during the week and worked from home on the weekends. She knew her life had to change. She did not want to spend the rest of her life alone and she wanted children. Right now, she was a single, successful woman, that had to be good enough.
With a nice buzz, she rose to go to bed, the marks on her shoulder long forgotten. She cleaned up after herself and went to lie down. Snuggled comfortably in her king-size bed, she decided she would sleep in for once. After all, tomorrow was Saturday. It did not take long before Tamia had fallen asleep.
She woke suddenly to the feeling of hands on her legs. Not hands but the feeling of someone moving their hands right above your skin but not actually touching you. The feeling moved up her legs, pushing her old lady night shirt up as it went. Her hips, stomach, breast, and face. The night shirt now completely gone from her body; she felt the moving sensation everywhere at once. Touching her all over. Even her intimate parts. She moved her legs apart to give whatever it was more access to her treasure. She felt a wet suction on her clit and breasts. She did not question who or what was doing this to her because it felt amazing. To have every part of your body touched and caressed at the same time felt heavenly. She felt a tightening in her belly, and she knew she was about to cum, but she did not want this feeling to end. She cried out her pleasure as if someone were there. She felt it when they entered her open mouth almost like a kiss. She felt it when they entered her body. She could not explain what she was feeling. She was no virgin; she knew she was having sex with someone, but unless it was the Invisible Man, she was alone in her bed. This knowledge did not stop her body from reacting. Moving as the sensation moved. She felt the caress again at her mouth and opened her mouth to receive their kiss. The pressure building in her belly was unlike anything she had ever felt before. As if someone had zeroed in on her g-spot. Her body exploded into a thousand pieces. What Tamia did not know was that her body was hovering five inches above her bed, slowly descending as she orgasmed.

Tamia sat in her office contemplating whether to call for a psychiatric evaluation. Every night for the past month, she kept dreaming about having amazing sex with the invisible presence. She thought back to the first time it had happened. She woke that Saturday morning later than she had ever slept in before. Her body felt relaxed and well rested until she looked down and realized she was naked as the day she was born. She freaked out. She knew she had worn a night shirt to bed. Sleeping in the buff was not something she did. The encounter came rushing back to the forefront of her mind. She had never had a dream so vivid or erotic before. She felt embarrassed by the evidence between her legs and on her sheets; just how good that dream was! What bothered her was that she was not freaked out by the experiences. She hated to admit it, but she looked forward to her invisible dream lover every night.
She had started sleeping naked because she got the feeling that her invisible man did not like having to remove her night shirts. She did not know how she knew; she just knew. They tried different sexual positions in different parts of her condo, but she always woke up in bed. Was she going crazy?
Back at the office, she asked herself, “Why the hell is it so stuffy in here?” She needed fresh air. She felt like she was suffocating, so she got up to go outside when Elizabeth walked through her closed office door. Why did the one person she did not want to be bothered with have to show up? Elizabeth was a tad shorter than Tamia. Skinny, blonde hair, blue eyes, and had been gunning for Tamia’s job for years.
“I knew you were in your office. I knocked three times. I wanted to make sure you were okay,” Elizabeth said with a sweet smile.
Tamia was not fooled. Elizabeth was a conniving, back-stabbing troublemaker, and a shoddy accountant at best. But her enhanced thirty-six triple D’s she kept on display kept her male boss at bay. Tamia plastered on a fake smile of her own “I did not hear you; I was so caught up in my work. What can I do for you?”
Elizabeth walked farther into her office, only aggravating Tamia more because she felt like she could not breathe, and this impromptu visit was delaying her exit. “Mark asked me to drop off these reports to you. He wanted a second set of eyes on them before he submitted them to the Vice President. He said if you did not mind.” Elizabeth walked over and set the files on Tamia’s desk. She did not stick around long enough to hear Tamia’s answer.
Tamia looked down at the paperwork with disgust. The files would have to wait, she needed fresh air. She locked her office and headed outside. She needed to have a little talk with Mark. He had a nasty habit of having her double check Elizabeth’s work, especially when he knew it contained errors. She had no problems pointing out her mistakes and requesting she make the proper corrections. Mark could not seem to do that because he did not want to or the office rumor that they were sleeping together was true; either way it was not her problem.
Tamia walked outside so caught up in her internal musings that she did not realize she was about to run into a guy who was also distracted, talking to someone on his cell phone. Just as they were about to collide, a strong wind came out of nowhere and knocked the guy to the ground, breaking his cell phone. Tamia looked at him bewildered. One minute she was face to face with the guy’s chest and the next he was on the ground. She knew he could not have tripped because he would have fallen forward. It was like someone had pushed him out her way. He was now looking at her, she was looking at him. She gave him a shrug and a small smile before she walked away.
