Chapter One
The Arrival
It’s only been two months since my best friend Kyle died and my friend group is already trying to replace him. They say it was an innocent death in his sleep but I saw right through that lie. I saw the burns on his neck in the casket. He was murdered, someone must have choked him with something and left with the burns on his neck still there.
My friends decided that we should go on a vacation to a cabin in the woods near a place called Death Lake. Anyways, We get there that morning and it was a little unsettling. The cabin had a shed and there was a red carpet and a red drop of paint on the ground in a huge puddle. We all went inside and me and Jack went upstairs to get a room together.
“Hey Lucas” said Jack “Yeah Jack?” I asked “Don’t you think this cabin is a little suspicious and a little creepy. “Yeah… That’s why I’m bunking with you, you are the strongest one here and I need someone to help me if I get hurt or if something happens” I told him “Yeah… I bunk’d with you cuz you’re the smartest” He giggles nervously when he said that.
“Anyways, I heard that we are renting this place with another group of teens” Jack said “Oh cool!” I told him. Jack hops onto the top bunk and falls asleep right when he touches the bed. I hopped onto the bottom bunk and fell asleep not assuming what I would wake up to.
