Review of J. Miller's 'Beauty and Her Beast'
"This story was truly amazing; one of the best 'Beauty and the Beast' retellings. Firstly, I loved the character development of both protagonists, especially Christian's. The prologue was very well written, establishing his initial character as a womaniser, a bit of a playboy, and showing how little he cares for the women he beds—physically chasing after them and not letting any of them escape, leading to kidnapping and even accidental death; he doesn't care about the pain he causes. It's clear from the start that he is a cruel and coarse man with a twisted sense of lust, especially in describing Alamina's body. From the outset, we see how selfish he is. I think it's incredible how well the author set up his character, and even how some of that cruelty still lingers when Anna first arrives. The contrast from his prologue self is most evident in the 'animal lust' scene, where he accidentally hurts Anna, and the immense guilt he feels, thinking he has killed her. I love that Christian's character development was not rushed; it felt naturally progressive. There was no instant change when he met Anna; it took him some time to warm up to her, which is a much more genuine portrayal of character development. It shouldn't happen too quickly or too slowly; it was realistic, and I appreciate that, since many authors rush this process, making it feel inauthentic. Secondly, the plot was excellent! I liked the balance between emotional and action scenes. There wasn't too much of either. The emotional moments—whether anger, sadness, or simply drama—were very effective in making us sympathise with the characters, especially with the scene of Anna crying in the garden. I found Christian's 'death' and the choice he was offered between heaven and Anna particularly interesting. Finally, the ending. I always enjoy a happily ever after, where everyone gets their just deserts. The epilogue, including Christian’s proposal and their marriage, was lovely to read; both of them deserved their happy ending after all the trials and tribulations they endured throughout the story. This book was a joy to read. Thank you very much, author. "

"Dude this was so needed- as this is the first story I have read on this website. But Anna is such a reasonable and relatable character, I think if I were in her shoes, I would have done and felt the exact same things as her. As for Christian, he's a whole different story, I would've never guessed that he had an inner beastly desire, so that part really surprised me, but I guess it showed more of her love to him, But overall this whole story plot is seriously amazing, I really wish there was more although the length fits the story, I hope there were more detailed chapters of how she spent her days, and the process of her getting closer with Christian, and funny things that may happen between them, as for his beastly desire to be exposed so early may really make the reader hate him but personally I sympathise with him and her mostly."

"This was a good story, enjoyable to read. I like that it showed that the Beast (Christian) was a predator before he was cursed. It gave more meaning and reason as to why he was cursed. In the end, the love between Anna and Christian, overcame the obstacles and fear. I did enjoy the part where Anna's Father and her Sisters, got their 'rewards' after stealing Jewels and trinkets. Such a horrible family! Glad Anna got her happy ever after. "
