Busy

Living in a Tavern with the Grandmaster of the Templar Order was not easy. Especially when it came to special meetings and missions when he wasn't here. I always sat in our room, or out on the open streets of New York City. I haven't seen or heard from my best friend/boyfriend, Haytham Kenway since Johnson was assassinated. I had told him before to not stress himself over this, but seeing as he IS the Grandmaster, there was no stopping him. He constantly arrives late at night and leaves just before the crack of dawn, as if he was avoiding me. It was only a matter of time before- the door opened, my fingers stopping their trend of writing. I looked from the paper to the door, seeing the looming presence of Haytham himself. I immediately looked away, continuing to write in my 'book'. "Hello, dear." I muttered, too tired from the lack of sleep to say it any louder. "How was the... meeting?" I paused to let out a yawn, rubbing my drooping eyes with the back of my hand. "I take it, it wasn't as cheerful as when Johnson was here."

"Indeed." Heavy footsteps stalled into the medium sized room, before a pair of lips pressed against the side of my head. A giggle tore it's way out of my throat, fingers brushing against his. Haytham usually showed this kind of affection behind closed doors. In public he would put a hand on the swell of my back or wrap his arm around my arm, like the gentleman he is. It was never often he would show me this side of him, when he did it would bring a burst of comfort throughout my body. Like he wanted me here and it was a good decision to travel with him across the Atlantic. Setting my quill down, I blew gently on the scratched parchment so it would dry. I closed the book before standing up from the chair. Returning the kiss on his forehead, bumping against his tricorn hat. A smile came to his face, arms wrapping around my waist in a small, but loving hug. Once we parted, he gestured to the bed. "Go on, I'll join you shortly." Nodding, I pressed another kiss to his cheek before stepping aside towards the bed. As I got under the covers, Haytham's name was called from outside the room. Charles Lee knocked three times on the door. I gazed at Haytham, who in turn gave me a tired look, walking towards the door. Once he opened it and stepped out, I got under the covers and fluffed the pillow a little before resting my tired head on top of it. Muffled voices kept me awake, on top of that, another wave of loneliness washed through me, chilling me to the bone. Thoughts swarmed my head. If he leaves for another mission... what did Charles want that was so important... Tears started to flood my eyes, before the door opened once again. I wiped them on the pillow, hiding my sadness with a look of content. "Are you alright, love?" A weight sunk the bed, a hand was placed on my waist, fingers rubbing gently in small circles.

"It's fine, Haytham." I assured him, my fingers curling around his.

"(Y/N), you can tell me anything, you know that, right?" He spoke against my neck, legs soon tangling with mine.

"Mmhm." I hummed tiredly, a smile pulling at my lips. "I only wish for a peaceful night with my beloved." I felt a smile curl against my neck, a bare chest pressing against my back.

"You should've asked."

"You're busy all the time Haytham. I don't want to interrupt you from your work."

"I always have time for you." I give a small laugh at the statement. "Goodnight, dear."

"Goodnight, Mr. Kenway." After a long period of silence, he spoke once again.

"I love you." I blush deeply, his grip tightening against my fingers in a gentle hold. He only ever said that once, when he confessed his love for me, now, it filled the piece in my heart. A bright, but tired smile came to my face.

"I love you too."

A/N- I wrote this from my phone.

Angela: A good story so far. I like Amora's character and the ideas such as, Aiden taken power over the pack and stripping Amora of her title. The drama around how Aiden tortured Amora carving his name into her skin was dramatic which I liked. Gave the story some substance. When Aiden captures Amora and beg...
