It was an icy cold day in Yorkshire, England, pouring with rain and the train ride to Hathaway High was not at all pleasant. It had taken 4 hours to get to the beaten down school, each girl shivering as the cold seeped to their bones, but one girl, who didn't at all seem phased was sat there, reading an old novel called, '1984' written by a George Orwell. The events were not at all true of course, but she was one for getting lost into a book.
Fallon stood out from most of the others, being one of the only girls with red hair, and having green eyes, piercing green eyes, you could tell she was definitely different. As the train came to a halt all the girls who had been talking suddenly hushed into a whisper as they wondered what was going on. They all stood, walking out of the cabin, as Fallon didn't budge, one of the girls snapped her out of the world she was in.
"Hey, I'm Alexis, Alexis Dakin, what about you?" The girl asked in a kind manor. "I'm Fallon, Fallon Dreppet." She answered.
Alexis was much like Fallon, red hair, green eyes and what looked like the perfect smile. As they both exited the cabin and joined the rest of the girls on the platform, they were told some rules. The girls rushed to the school, running up the stairs to see the rooms they would be spending the next 7 years in. Inside were three bunkbeds, indicating there would be six of them. Their stuff was already there as they had sent it the day before and they went to the assigned beds.
Fallon was excited, she had always dreamed of a boarding school just like this, a chance to get away from her parents who were, like all parents, controlling in a way. She jumped onto the bed and smiled, she was finally a distance away from her parents where she could do what she wanted, to a certain extent. As she sat up she spoke to the group of girls, who were sat on their beds too.
"How about an ice breaker, say your name and something you enjoy, I'll go first, I'm Fallon and I love books." Fallon said. The girls smiled, Alexis going next "I'm Alexis and I like acting". A blonde girl spoke up "I'm Lily, and I like parties" Lily smiled. Fallon giggled "Parties huh, Bet your a great dancer" she said. Trinity was next, Trinity was a brunette girl will hazel eyes. "Hi, I'm Trinity and I, like Fallon, love books" She said. She was already connecting with those around her, which was a good thing. As the bell rung they all knew it was time for the long wait of dinner. They praised as they headed down to the mess hall.
They all sat together at a table and waited patiently for their food, whispering to each other as a glass was clinked. "Young ladies of Hathaway High, I am very please to welcome you to this very school, I wish you great academic studies here, now dig into your dinner before it is cold" The headmistress said, a warm smile on her face. The girls in the hall began eating, non of them had eaten in a while and they were, starving. They smiled as the warm food entered their shaking bodies and they melted as they were once again happy.
As dinner came to an end the girls headed back to their room, getting into pyjamas and brushing their teeth, Light's out was at ten and it was only eight, so they girls gossiped and giggled before the matron entered and said for them to go to bed. The agreed and got in bed.
"Goodnight matron, goodnight guys" Fallon said before drifting off into a deep sleep, nothing waking her, not a peep.
The next day she was awoken at seven in the morning for breakfast. Fallon got ready for the first day of school, wearing the uniform that was given to her. She was to wear a black pleated skirt, a long-sleeved blouse, a V-neck grey and blue jumper, the tie with respected school colours and a grey blazer. She put on her socks and shoes and headed down to the mess hall with her new friends. As they sat down they began to eat, smiling at each other as they talked about life back at home. Breakfast came to an end and they headed to their first lesson, science. Fallon gave a sigh, she hated science, she found it tiring. She sat down in her seat and the events that changed her life began.
