New Life
Life is like a boomerang just when you realize things have got resolved it bounces back with a new problem to test your strength and patience.
Few years back if someone would have told me I would return to New York I would have not agreed with them; but here I was working as a counsellor in an esteemed clinic with so many souls who look upon my guidance to steer through their life. It was not easy and when I look back, I admire my persistence in germinating this new personality.
My family has played a huge role in my growth and has been my backbone since I lost faith in the universe and myself. However, it was their confidence, love and motivation which helped me pave a new path for myself. I was really missing them because to say I am an adult and having known the city moving around should be easy. Right?
Even I thought so but after my studies I moved to California and then back to Massachusetts so in my absence there have been so many developments here and sometimes I spend so much time in the clinic I don’t realize this city changes within a blink of an eye. My boss Naomi when she chose me, I had no idea she has other intentions but over the years my good work and rising popularity made us partners and good friends too.
She is like her name; a ball of bubbling energy who wants everyone to be happy around her but that does not mean she is no issues; she likes to camouflage them well so that no one else remains bothered for her. She is a psychologist by profession and was my neighbor back home when she invited me to join her in the new venture. Yes, she moved in the house owned by Gerald and his family. When I think about the person who altered my life, I am thankful for only one blessing through him.
Rushing from the front door comes running my princess.
“Mommyyyyy I am back!!!”
I engulfed her into a hug and she caught me tightly.
“Hey honey how was your pre-school? Did you finish your snack?”
She tilts her waist with her tiny wheeny hands and gives me a motherly look.
“I am a good girl mommy you know that. Don’t you?”
“Yes, ma’am you are even better than me.”
I gave a salute and smiled thinking children grow up so fast. Before I could process she bounced on lap and I beamed at her excitement as she commenced her stories from school.
