Summary

This is a collection of Poems that I have written over the years. The publication of this collection is dedicated to a dear friend of mine who was taken from us because of who she was. Her strength and bravery to be herself in a world that was not ready for her is the reason I am able to find the strength to finally share these poems. Sara you are missed and will always be loved.

Downpour

A downpour comes down fast and hard

Crashing upon my heart

The rain pours down in sheets

All around me the water flows

My heart cries out to you

and yet you do not answer

Tears begin to stream down my face

They gently land on the flower petals like dew

Why the tears?

Why this downpour on my soul?

I look for you

Yet you are not there

You can't be there anymore

Once you stood

So vibrate and alive

Now you stand here no more

Why did you have so leave?

So violently?

So suddenly?

You stand before me laughing

I see your smiling face

Now only a memory

I wish I could hear your laugh again

If only for a moment

I will miss you greatly

You were loved so much

Even when you thought no one cared
