Prologue
She was dragged down the corridor and stuffed into a hidden hallway. The beautiful women looked at her with love and sadness.
“Go,” she whispered, bringing her hand to wipe a tear from the girl’s face.
The little girl rigorously shook her head no. She wouldn’t leave, she couldn’t.
“You must go, my sunshine. It is no longer safe here,” the woman sighed, tears escaping her own eyes, “you know what you must do. Go, I love you.” Giving the little girl one last kiss on the forehead she turned and ran back into battle.
The little girl forced a cry back down her throat. She had to be strong, they needed her to be strong. Whispering a small ‘I love you’ she turned her own way and ran into the misty forest. Never turning back to witness the horrors behind her.
There are many stories of what happened that fateful day, but there is only one truth the others were merely distorted realities.
