1. Train Ride

A large family walked to the station. There was a woman, her two daughters, and three sons. "Now, don't cause any trouble. Okay Annabelle?" The woman said.

A girl around eleven years-old looked up from her book. "Mum, I've already told you I'll try not to." Annabelle said as she looked at her brother Ron. He was holding Scabbers, his pet rat. She never understood why he brought Scabbers around with him.

"Well, you two better be getting on the train now." The woman said. Ron and Annabelle both gave their trunks to a man who put them on the train. They both got on the train and found a compartment.

Annabelle immediately opened the window, waved to the woman, and yelled, "Bye mum! I'll write to you and tell you everything about Hogwarts!" She waved back and smiled.

Annabelle closed the window and turned to Ron, "I'm going to walk around and meet some new people. Is that fine?"

Ron nodded, "Yeah. I'll just stay here."

With that she left the compartment and walked up to a compartment with a boy who looked about her age. She knocked on the door and opened it when the boy looked up, "Do you mind if I sit here?"

The boy gestured to the seat across from him, "Sit."

Annabelle quickly sat down and stuck out her hand, "I'm Annabelle. Annabelle Weasley. What's yours?"

The boy shook her hand, "Blaise Zabini."

Annabelle smiled, "Well Blaise, I think we'll be great friends."

Blaise and Annabelle became very close in the past few minutes. They were talking about quidditch when the door slammed open and three boys walked in. They were all wearing their Hogwarts robes. Two of the boys had brown hair. One was taller than the other. The last boy had blonde, slicked back hair and looked annoyed. The blonde haired boy pushed Blaise while the other two stood by the doorway.

Annabelle tried to be friendly by sticking her hand out expecting the blonde haired boy to shake it, "I'm Annabelle Weasley. Who are you and your friends?"

The blonde boy scrunched his nose in disgust, "I don't shake hands with blood traitors."

"Oh." Annabelle looked down. She put her hand on her lap. After a few minutes of silence, Annabelle stood up, "Well Blaise, I'm going to find my brother." She waved, "Bye." She quickly left the compartment, not wanting to be around the blonde boy. She was wandering around when a girl with bushy, brown hair stopped her.

The girl crossed her arms, "Have you seen a toad? A boy named Neville's lost it."

Annabelle shook her head, "No. Sorry. I haven't." She pushed past the girl and found the compartment Ron was in. He was with a boy who had black hair and circle glasses. She walked into the compartment and sat next to Ron.

The boy looked at me and said, "I'm Harry Potter."

I think my mouth dropped when he said that. I asked him, "Do you really have the...scar?" I whispered at the end.

Harry lifted his bangs and there was a lightning shaped scar underneath. "Cool." I said in astonishment.

A woman with a cart full of sweets came and said, "Anything from the trolley, dears?"

Ron and Annabelle took out their sandwiches their mum had made them and said, "No thanks, we're all set." Ron gave the lady a small smile.

Harry felt bad for them. He said, "We'll take the lot." Harry reached into his pocket, and took out a handful of coins. Ron and Annabelle looked at him speechless.

"Woah." Ron said.

The three of them were eating all the sweets Harry had bought. "Are these really every flavor?" Harry asked, holding up a box of Every Flavored Beans.

Ron took a bite of something, "They mean every flavor!" He took another bite, "There's chocolate and peppermint," ho looked up, "And there's also spinach, liver, and tripe. George swore he got a bogey one once."

Harry made a disgusted face and spit out the bean he had in his mouth. He picked up a small package and said, "These aren't real frogs, are they?"

Annabelle spoke up, "It's just a spell. Besides, it's the cards you want." She paused for a moment, then continued. "Each pack's got a famous witch or wizard. I've got about twenty of them. Ron's got maybe five-hundred."

Harry opened the package and the frog jumped out onto the window.

"Watch it!" Ron said. It kept jumping until it went out the window. "Aw. It's rotten luck. It only got one good jump to begin with."

"I got Dumbledore!" Harry said happily. He turned the card from side to side.

"Ron's got about six of him." I said.

When Harry looked back at the card, Dumbledore was gone. Harry said, "He's gone!"

Then she said, "You can't expect him to stay all day. He's a busy person."

Harry looked at Scabbers, who was inside a box eating candy. Ron held up Scabbers, "This is Scabbers. Pathetic, isn't he?"

"Just a little bit." Harry said.

"Fred gave me a spell to turn him yellow. Want to see?"

Harry smiled and said, "Yeah."

Ron took out his wand and cleared his throat, "Sunshine," but he was cut off by the girl I saw earlier.

She looked around. She seemed to be looking for something. When she couldn't find what she was looking for, she said, "Has anyone seen a toad? A boy named Neville's lost him." Ron and Annabelle both shook their heads. She turned to Annabelle, "Aren't you that girl I saw earlier today?" Annabelle shook her head. The girl didn't seem to care and turned back to Ron, "Oh? You're doing magic?" The girl stood up, "Let's see then."

Ron cleared his throat again and started to say the spell again, "Sunshine daisies, butter mellow. Turn this stupid fat rat yellow." When it didn't work, Ron shrugged at Harry.

The girl said, "Are you sure that's a real spell? Well, it's not very good. Is it?" Ron looked at his sister then back at the girl. "Of course, I've tried a few simple spells myself. But they worked for me. For example," she walked in and sat across from Harry, next to Annabelle. "Oculus Reparo." The spell fixed Harry's glasses. "That's better isn't it?" He took them off and looked at them shocked. "Holy cricket! You're Harry Potter! I'm Hermione Granger. And you are?" She asked Ron.

"Um, Ron Weasley."

"Pleasure. And you?" Hermione turned to her right.

"I'm Annabelle Weasley. Ron's sister."

Hermione nodded. "You three should change into your robes. We'll be arriving soon." She got up to leave when she turned around and spoke to Ron, "You've got dirt on your nose by the way. Just there." She pointed to her nose and left.

Ron rubbed the spot Hermione was talking about.
