Journal Entry #3
Prompt:Think about personification as you write for this prompt: Imagine you are a pumpkin. What are you feeling and thinking about? Do you wonder where you will be on Halloween? Who will your neighbor pumpkins be?
It was October 25th when the picking happened. Hundreds of these strange animals came herding in. Some tall, others short. Brown hair, blonde hair, even red hair. They chopped off our stems and threw us in huge medal boxes with wheels for feet. They took the smaller ones of us, and put them on a white table. The offspring of the strange creatures were putting a strange liquid on the small ones. Turning them blue, pink, and any color in the rainbow. Us bigger ones were taken to these huge boxes where they cut off our heads and scooped out our insides. They carved holes into one of our sides. It was now the night of October 31st, they put us on the ground and put a candle inside of us. The strange creatures then came from all sides, they hit a slab of wood that would then open. They said “Trick or treat” then walked off. Leaving us behind. As daylight comes, they pick us up and throw us in boxes and the boxes are then put outside. Left to be forgotten.
