the sad truth
“I’ll see you later, love you, Dad,” I say as I grab my backpack
“See you soon don’t come home too late,” he says with a weak tone I have noticed he has been sick a lot these couple of days. But as I walk at the door to go and catch the incoming bus. I see my best friend Lila. We have been friends for most of our life. I met her in kinderlgarten and right away we knew we would be the best of friends.
" Hey! If it weren’t for your speedy moving legs I would have been on my way to school and you would have been left. Anyway, how was your soccer game yesterday?” She asks as we walk on the bus to see we are early. as we walk to the back of the seats. I sit next to her looking funny as I hug her tightly by the excitement in my veins. ” I loved it it was awesome our team won and I scored 10 points after all that practice it finally paid off considering I’m the best on your team.” I said jokingly.
After a few hours of school, I get on the bus, and after a long exhausting day.
I got home and to my surprise, all I heard was talking. I walk in to see a man white with dark brown hair with amazing baby blue eyes with a hint of athortity and amazing bulging muscles looking from my dad to me as if he was surprised to see me. “Hey sweetie, come take a seat please this is serious,” my dad said with a sad grasp in his voice.
" Okay” I looked making a fake smile while suddenly tensing up feeling that something bad is going on. ” What’s going on may I ask?” my dad takes my hand while the man looks down at the floor then my dad
“Sweetie I have recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and I have been looking for cures and they said it’s not possible. But this man says he can help” first I was sad at the thought that he hid this from me until I realized his last words.
" Wow well, might I ask your name?” I ask looking at the man.
" My name is Leo Andrew Gilbert and there is a price as I mentioned to your father before,” he said looking at me with an emotionless glance. I turn back to my father who was obviously hiding something. I look back at the man ” we don’t have money like that. How would we possibly do anything for you” he looks at me then looks at my father and nodding with a glare that brought shivers to my spine.
“Tell her”
" I have to give you to Leo as part of the payment. If you do go we can’t visit but when you go with him he will give me the cure.” He looks at me with a less than sad look. I feel tears welling up as I get up and look at the man.
" So I have to go with HIM as a payment,” I said as suddenly I felt my head get dizzy as I fall to the floor and blanked out.
