Chapter 1

Aniya POV -

“MAMA I’M NAKED!!!”

“I’m sorry baby, but you have to hurry up or you’re going to be late on the first day and we can’t have that.” My mama calmly replied. Which was pretty nice seeing as she yells at me most mornings. I wish she did that every morning. She was right though, I need to get going or else I’m going to be late for the first day of school. Junior year awaits…

“ANIYA!” yelled my mama.

I changed as fast as I could and tried to run through my room without tripping over the clothes spread out on my floor.

One heck of an obstacle course

Barreling down the stairs, I make my way into the kitchen to see my parents having a fight. They’ve been fighting since I got diagnosed 3 years ago. We’ve spent large amounts of money, yes, but we still have lots left, so fighting is pointless.

“Morning guys. I’m going to head out and have breakfast with Miya.” I said leaving as quickly as I could to my motorcycle. Yes, I drive a motorcycle. Why should I drive a car when everyone else is driving one. My parents hated the idea of me driving a motorcycle, but at least I’m not on it with someone else driving.

I love the thrill it gives me. If you live a life like mine and you know what’s going to happen, such as your future husband, or how many kids and which college you’re going to, then it gets pretty boring. So to have a little fun, I bought it. Even though it was my parents’ money, I’m the one who chose it so I ‘bought it’.

Stopping at the stoplight, I could hear a honk behind me. As I looked to my left to see who wanted this smoke, all I could see were these otherworldly eyes. What allured me the most was the fact that they were two different colors. One of his eyes was ocean deep blue while the other was forest green and I wanted to go exploring in them.

Forgetting what I was going to say to him, he mouthed the words “GO”. I couldn’t ignore the blush rising to my cheeks as I raced towards the school. Even though I didn’t get to see the rest of his features, anyone could tell this man was sculpted by the gods. The unfairness of life is overwhelming, I thought to myself as I turned into the school parking lot.

“HEY, OVER HERE!” yelled my one and only friend. Make that best friend. No, make that sister. She’s the perfect description of what any guy would want in a girlfriend. She’s got the curves, the yummy caramel skin color, and she has the hazel eyes that I wish I had to be honest.

“Hi Miya, what’s the tea?” Miya is known by everyone and she always has something to tell me whether they come in handy or not.

“Brother!! There’s a new kid and from the little glimpse I saw, he’s HOTT!!” Miya laughed out.
