Chapter 1

I looked out the window, everything looked so tiny from up here. I tried to smile then I remembered this wasn't how it was meant to be, this wasn't the picture I had in my head and I wasn't me anymore, nothing was right, how could everything go so wrong so fast, how?
With my eyes still closed I hummed along to the song I was listening to and tears rolled down my cheek, the memories came back again. There was burning ache in my chest, I really wanted to scream let it all out.
I felt daddy's tight squeeze on my left hand "everything's going to be fine" he said softly. I only gave a faint smile then took a deep breath in and out, then laid my head on his shoulder, still holding my hand daddy placed his head on mine. I felt better and later drifted off to sleep.
The flight wasn't hectic it was OK but I just didn't enjoy it, honestly I stopped seeing the point of anything since... "Sigh"
We were at our destination at last. With my wireless headphones still on my head, my small backpack hanging over my right shoulder and my phone in the other hand, I just kept walking. Even when daddy held my hand I didn't say a word. The way I had been quite lately was really disturbing especially for daddy, I was only 13 soon to be 14 every thing was too much for me to take in I just felt like my world was crashing down .
On arriving at the customs exit I could see daddy's younger sister and her family.
They spotted us too and were waving.
"You're finally here."
"How are you?" She said giving me a hug.
"Fine." I replied faintly
We received the Bruce family's warm welcome.
You're probably wondering how my aunts surname could be Bruce.
Well, she studied and worked here then got married here in America. She has two kids, one was around my age but a year older (Diana) and the other (Benjamin) was 7 years old.
"Nice out fit" Dian commented while we got into her mums car and my dad in her dads car.
"Thanks" I guess she was right my fashion sense was still alive.
I hope my once happy self would too.
