Prologue
216 BC
After the massacre at Cannae, the Carthaginians under Hannibal moved towards Rome; in Carthage, the council sent men to aid in the war, not to Hannibal, but to his other siblings back in Iberia. Initially, this scheme set up by the council would benefit the Romans, allowing them to regain strength and send Hannibal back across the Italian Penisula. In doing so, Rome would counter-attack and defeat the Carthaginian general. That is, however, if this tale followed the original story. However, fate always seems to throw a stone in the pool of chance to see the ripple effect.
In a surprise twist, Mago and Hasdrubal, Hannibal's brothers, come from Hispania with the council's men and supplies. Armed with fresh new troops and supplies, the Barca sibling quickly conquered the small republic of Rome. The streets ran red with blood, and the city defenders were powerless against the shot of the Barcas. With the city under his control, he gives the people an ultimatum: leave Rome and survive in the wilderness or die. With some military families taking the offer, they are sent to Gaul and Italia's frontier border, whereas the others Hannibal sees as possible allies are spared.
Taking a seat in the senate room, he looked at the razing of Rome and remembered his oath to his father many years ago. Smiling in satisfaction, he completed his father's dream.
Rome was defeated and no longer a threat. Now begins the rise of the Carthaginians.
Yet unbeknownst to him, another legend will rise to challenge his rule, a warrior unlike any before. So begins the saga of Rome's Wolf.
