"Didn't you hear me? I know you did. Come on go get ready for school. She grumbled.

"Come on mom. It's still so early and besides I won't be late for school, I just want to keep on listening to my songs ".sje received her earphones back.

"Just go get dressed, I don't want to argue with you.I'll be going to work now. Take care".she kissed her cheeks and went off.

"Bye".

After about thirty minutes, she got dressed and left the house,locking the door. Her phone rang and she picked it up.

"Hey Eowyn ".he was her best friend.

"Hey! Where are you? Classes started already, you're late"he paused."Again! "he added.

"Calm.I'm on my way already. I just got carried away listening to music".she was walking down the street already.

"Music? You'll never get tired",he laughed

"Uhhh..who ever gets tired of music?.she laughed too.

"Anyways just be here. ASAP!! "

"Okay. See you soon ".she ended the call,rolling her eyes. Eowyn never ceased to remind her of the fact that she was always late to school.

She was still walking when her eyes caught something at the corner of the street. She wasn't sure but she went closer to take a look. Lo and behold, it was a dead body, she gasped,staggering back. Looking around, she saw no-one in sight.

"Who could have done this? ".she asked herself but she didn't have an answer to that either. The hands were chopped off and blood was all over the body, she couldn't stand the sight but went to take a closer look. She bent lower and turned the heads towards her. She found out then it was her classmate, Tisha who had been killed. She immediately stood up, dumbfounded.

"Oh no! "she said to herself, trembling and afraid too. Tears welled up in her eyes as she couldn't believe what she was seeing. She looked all over again with the hope of finding someone but she didn't.

"What should I do? ".Her head went blank and she couldn't think of anything. She stepped back slowly then immediately ran as fast as she could, without realizing she had dropped her phone.

She got to school, panting really hard. She couldn't think straight anymore. The thought of seeing Tisha's dead body couldn't leave her head. She went to her class and met Eowyn,standing by the door.

"You stayed long, why? "he asked, but on seeing her face,he stopped abruptly then asked "What's wrong? ".

She didn't reply him but instead went into the room and sat down. He followed after her.

"What is it Lorelei?

She was shaking all over. He touched her hands.

"Tell me".he was getting tensed.

"I.. I.. saw Tisha.. "she stopped

"And? "

"She's dead".she looked up at him, he let go of her hands, in shock.

"WHAT?! how do you mean? "

"I was on my way to school when I noticed something by the road. I got closer and saw it was a dead body,that of Tisha. "

"Oh no! Who could have done that? "

"I don't know..... I need to call my mom."she checked her pocket for her phone but couldn't find it. She checked again and checked her bag but still couldn't find it.

"Oh no".she looked up at him, realizing where she had forgotten it.

"What's it? "

"I can't find my phone.. It isn't here... "

"Wait a minute. Don't tell me you forgot it there. "

"I need to go get it".she stood up to go.

"Wait. " he held her hand.

She looked at him. "I need to go get it".

"You can't. School's not over yet and besides what if someone sees you. What do you think would happen? "he asked.

"I don't care. I didn't kill her so why should I be worried about that ".he held her back, still.

"Eowyn I'll come back soon. It's just to go get my phone".

"Okay, do what you want. I.... ". Just then a teacher and two men in uniform came into the class. They both looked at each other.

"oh no".she murmured to herself. The teacher walked up to her.

"Ms. Davidson,you'reneeded in the principal's office." Eowyn let her hand go and she quietly followed them out. She already knew where it was heading to, maybe they found her phone already.

She got to the principal's office and was asked to sit down, which she did, obediently.

"Ms.Davidson, I'm detective Lawrence from the state police and this is my assistant, Detective Steve.we just want to ask you some questions and we advise you to reply us truthfully.

"Okay".she answered.

"Good. So by any chance,do you recognise this?. He brought out the phone and showed it to her, putting it on the table.

"Yes. It belongs to me. "The other detective was taking notes.

"Good. How and where did you lose this phone?. " He asked her,looking closely at her. She couldn't speak.

"Ms. Davidson, you'll have to answer to any question we ask you. Don't leave out any detail whatsoever ". The other sergeant spoke.

This time, sitting on the table in front of her, Detective Lawrence asked again. "How did you lose this phone? ".

She then knew she had to tell the truth.

"I lost it this morning. I didn't realize I had dropped it. I was on my way to school when I saw a dead body across the street. I got closer and recognized it to be that of Tisha's,my classmate". Her heart was racing already.

"Hmm.....when you saw the body, why didn't you come report at the station?".

"I didn't know what to do. I was very confused, I....... "

"So you ran away?dropping your phone? "

"I ran out of thoughts.. I was so scared when I saw the body".

"How was your relationship with the deceased? ". He stood up, pacing around.

"Uhmm..... She was my classmate, we didn't talk that much, we were just mere classmates,nothing else".she answered. She couldn't hear her heartbeat anymore now.

"Okay. Have you by any chance, fought with her? Or you know someone who did?".
