Intro
If your reading this you must be very bored or have nothing to watch. Don’t worry I won’t judge, been there, even resorted to people watching at times. So take a sit, stand or whatever makes you comfortable and let’s waste an hour or two, unless you’re some lesser being. What’s an hour to you? A day? A week? A decade? Doesn’t matter you’re here and you’ve nothing better do, the right ingredients for storyteller, which I profess, I haven’t been in long time but this story isn’t about me. No, no. First things first though, don’t want you commit to something you might end up hating, so for all the genre snobs this is technically a report of observations. Yes you heard that right a good old report, spiced up of course, no point in getting technical when you’re not being paid. Just helping an old friend out with a project, you know the vibes. Nothing to do but can’t help to be alone, I am basically you with better looks. You can’t see me so don’t argue.
Anyway, this story is basically observations but for you to understand it I have to paint the picture.
Let’s start with the background to put the protagonist/s in context. (Might focus on one maybe two if I’ve got time.) The subjects of this story/experiment are the species called v1112 of control environment Zeta. Man that’s complicated. Let’s pull it down a notch. How about we call this little environment an entire universe and from the perceptive of such tiny things, it is.
Now let’s give these little critters’ home a name, everyone has to have a name for their home. It feels less alien and more comforting. Let’s call v1112’s home Earth, yeah that feels right and while we at it, might as well describe the place.
Earth is a sphere that revolves around a bright source of light that we- am calling a son (Might change the “o” into a “u” later to look smart) because it reminds me of the thing I used to see as a child, I could describe the rest but it’s just boring things zipping around aimlessly without cause. We would have viewed the other samples next to Earth like…I call it Mars - the fourth one orbiting the sun. (I am sticking with this spelling at least for now. Added “the” to amplify it’s magnificence – for the species not me, to me it looks like a bright speck of dust if I don’t focus.)
This environment, I mean universe only has one sample, Earth. If you’re looking for multiple species find the report on environment Gamma.
Where was I? Yeah Earth, it is bright blue and mostly peaceful, at least it was when I looked at it early. Now it looks, burnt, overpopulated and dying. Well their goes that story.
Anyway, I pointed it out to the experimenter, who spilled the contents and started it over again. Same test species, in similar conditions. I was going to add 2’s to the naming system but I’m too lazy, let just stick to what we know. Universe, Sun, Earth, V1112 and sometimes Mars because of the V1112 they call Elon – that weird little thing, always dreaming of the impossible, made me laugh when he lost his hair.
Note: Changed V1112 to something more distinguishable. Now V1112 in singular is human/man/woman/girl/boy/or unique name usually with a capitalised first letter. V1112 in plural is now people/humans/and some other stuff I think of. Don’t worry, your smart, you'll figure it out.
Note: Weirdly when the sample changed the same results repeated with minuscule alterations. Will add to this upon experiment completion. Even more reason to neglect adding a “2”.
Note: Everything scaled to match how the v1112, I mean humans see their world.
Now that boring stuff is done with, let’s get to the story. Yeah so, in the earlier version, I found this little interesting human, in a small [country] on large landmass called Afrika/Africa. The little thing was a star – as magnificent as the sun, not literally but he cracked me up like nothing else in the environment. If things keep going as they are am sure the creature will pop up again.
Note: the world has reached a new equilibrium of peace
I would like to tell you this ends all strife and hunger but that would be lie. there is something to be said about being the primary cause of your own problems, a realisation, a pride that everything was truly in one’s control. This will be the world our protagonist/s will grow up in, were the country relies on itself and continental neighbours. Never looking outwardly for solutions, depending only on oneself as the countless speeches Shi Mule preached are read out in countless classrooms eventually becoming a part of the national identity. And like before…
Here comes our “hero”, producing a tired yawn upon emerging into the world.
A midwife in green scrubs places the baby in a small box – with translucent glass and breathing holes – and presses the green button on the side. A small incomplete circle rotates on a display before giving its findings, “Nothing special.” The midwife says nonchalantly, handing the baby back to nurse standing by the mother’s side.
“Did you decide a name yet” She asks the mother.
“Ni Mwewa.” She says sweating profusely in a barely audible tone but from the feeble wide smile she gives her baby, it’s clear how special it is to her.
The same feeling isn’t resonating with the father who has a hand to one cheek, questioning the accuracy of the odd device.
“If your that aggrieved, get a private test.”
That shuts him up.
The man walks to his wife’s side, receiving the baby from the nurse; other pregnancies to attend, it seems. He chats up the baby, warming up to his little bored looking bundle of joy.
“At least your not useless like me,” He whispers. “You can thank your mother for that.” He adds staring longingly into the half-asleep woman’s eyes.
