It was a busy morning, Natalie was still on her bed in deep sleep and her entire family including her younger sister, Abigail was awake. ''Are you planning to wake up, mum made some fresh pancakes, I had to run to the store to get the pancakes but nevermind'' Natalie replied in her dry harsh voice ''You just mom made pancakes and now you're saying you BOUGHT fresh pancakes!?'' Abigail sat beside her and brushed her hair.
''Don't touch my hair! I showered last night and my hairs' clean, go away!''
Abigail moved away and went to her mother for complaining. Natalie shouted from her bedroom ''You're 12-years-old, stop being a crybaby!!" Abigail sopped at her tracks and said "You're 16, stop instructing me!'' Mrs. Jasmine, their mother who is a 29-year-old teacher in the Jeremy Joseph School commonly known as JJS was an independent single mother who took care of both these furious daughters. Jasmine announced from the kitchen ''Girls! No time to waste, I have to sign all the assignments once I reach school, Abigail get ready for school, Natalie we're going together''
Natalie got up from her bed and got ready. It was her first day in 11th Grade and she hated being the eldest and the most well-dressed child in school ''Mom! Why can't I just wear a hoodie? It's so fashionable in my new school'' Jasmine objected from the kitchen ''You're not allowed to wear hoodies in that school, or at least I restrict students from wearing hoodies, remember you're Mrs. Jasmine Fernandes' daughter, not your neighbors! Get dressed in the trousers!''
Natalie sighed and continued dressing up. She ended up wearing a black full sleeve silk shirt, with a knee-length black skirt and black stockings underneath it.
She clearly hated it since she knew that she will be teased and that she would be humiliated in front of all the students. Natalie started growing anxious and she started to feel alone and scared.
She stood there in the bathroom thinking about everything
how do students dress up in that school? will I be able to give exams in school? will I be bullied? what if I don't get the chance to make a friend circle? what if I turn out to bully, Nah.
All such thoughts provoked her mind and she started hating herself for asking her mother to change the school. Abigail interrupted from the bedroom ''Don't think too much, there are few girls I know who would like to be your friend.''
Natalie face-palmed and said ''We can read mind, at least you can, please tell me I can fit in''
Abigail stomped outside the bedroom and shut the door behind trying to tell Natalie that she isn't interested in her talks.
Mrs. Jasmine was getting late for school so she went into the bedroom to check on Natalie first. Natalie was sitting on her bed facing the wall and in a crouched position. ''We are getting late Natalie, You don't want to be late on the first day of school.''
Natalie sounded sad, she said in her polite voice ''You can go alone, I'll take a bus'' Mrs. Jasmine was wondering what exactly was wrong with her then she realized, Natalie has been studying in Harward's since she was in preschool and she never switched schools, this was her first time when she will be seeing the face of new 11th graders.
''Oh! I get you, don't be scared, you'll be fine, soon you will be making new friends and you would be dying to go on a friend night overs, you won't get it, be a part of it, try to fit in.''
Natalie turned towards her mother and her mother was depressed seeing her teary eyes and red face. ''Oh no no no, Don't cry, You'll miss your besties but, you told me you wanted to be in my school, in the school I am teaching in, I will be there for you, you're 16!''
Natalie sighed and started to cry, even more, everything was a mess, she lay on her bed still and stared at the ceiling.
''You can't do this Natalie, you are no more a part of Harward's you're now are part of Jeremy Joseph School, You are a Jeremian''
''Ew. Is that even a word?" Natalie uttered. Jasmine pulled her out from her bed and helped her fix her hair.
''Can't believe I have to do this, You are 16, not 9''
Natalie hated whenever she was being compared to a tween or toddler. ''DON'T - - - TOUCH MY HAIR'' Jasmine stepped away, she was pretty shaken to hear those words from her own daughter.
''But I used to make french plaits when you were in Harward's, I always did this''
''I am 16, not 6!''
Jasmine could see that Natalie was clearly not in a mood to go to school.
