The forest was unnaturally quiet except for the young man’s footsteps as if the forest was waiting with bated breath for something terrible to happen. He thought I must reach Guild Master. He will be able to save me. The Adventurer’s Guild’s Guild Master Divyansh was an expert in Light Magic. He was rumoured to be so strong that even the Dark Magic’s strongest Demons bowed before him. And right now, the shadow that was following that young man of the name of Aaron, was that Demon of Dark Magic that was only thought to exist in folklore by everyone except for the ones present in the Adventurer’s Guild. The shadow was the strongest demon of Dark Magic. The demon’s name was Vritrasura. The young man was wondering, How did the monster awaken? The ritual required to awaken it is only known to the followers of the highest rank in Dark Magic. But all the Dark Magicians were killed by Guild Master and his team itself.

Then he remembered, of the one secret follower, the one who had betrayed Guild Master’s trust, betrayed the side of the gods for the unlimited power on the side of the demons. That follower had been barely defeated by the Guild Master. But wasn’t he banished away to the realm of Paatal eternally, never to return?? But what if someone on the inside of the Guild used Dark magic secretly to rescue him? After all, the information on how to undo that curse was stored in the Adventurer’s Guild only. But it was only accessible by the adventurers of the highest ranks. That means that some Dark Magician escaped the purge after all. He must warn the Guild Master of this development. But first, he must reach the Guild Master so that he could be rescued. Everything else could be dealt with later. The demon has to be first defeated.

Then he heard a voice that broke his chain of thoughts. A shiver went down his spine as he heard the voice say, “How are you Aaron?? Long time no see. How is that blubbering old fool Divyansh doing??”. He can’t believe it!! That monster had been rescued after all. He gritted his teeth and said, “How did you escape?? You had been banished to the darkest and deepest realms of Paatal by Guild Master himself!”. “That old crackpot couldn’t defeat me, do you not understand?? I had ensured that I could rescue myself if something happened to me.”, the voice said in a matter-of-fact tone. Aaron hated it. “You should have not done this. I am going to destroy you”, said Aaron through his gritted teeth. “You! Your precious little Guild Master wasn’t able to defeat me without help and you think you can defeat me?? I am giving you a chance. Leave the side of the gods and join me to the side of the demons. We shall conquer and rule the world together.“, replied the voice. Aaron said, with hate in his voice,” I will die but not join you.”. Then the voice said in mock remorse, “Then you leave me no choice.” The voice then said in an ordering tone,” Vritrasura, finish my friend. And do it slowly. I want to watch the pain on his face.” The demon complied. After all, it was all but a puppet in the hands of his master. Powerful, but still, a puppet.

Aaron then readied himself. He took out a dagger. The dagger was fashioned from the bones of a Brahmin scholar. Since killing any Brahmin was the gravest sin, he had fashioned the dagger from the body of a dead Brahmin. He still had to suffer physical pain afterwards, but it was better than being continuously tortured like the god Indra. He had made this dagger a week ago when he had a vision of him making this dagger. He had not known the reason then, but he knows now. Vritrasur was a demon who can only be defeated by a weapon fashioned out of a Brahmin’s bones, as it cannot withstand again the purity which is being still emanated after the Brahmin’s death. He prays to the gods above to help him defeat the demon, then readies himself to fight.

What he sees was a sight so majestic, he would never forget it even after his death. Tall and blackish, Vritrasura appeared like a burnt hill and was as lustrous as a bright array of clouds in the evening. The hair on the demon’s body and his beard and moustache were the colour of melted copper, and his eyes were piercing like the midday sun. He appeared unconquerable as if holding the three worlds, Prithvi, Swarg and Paatal on the points of his blazing trident. The demon emanated such fear that for one moment, Aaron felt like giving up hope and surrendering. He then remembered that he had to protect the ones he loves. If he has to die, so be it. He then did an Analyze on the monster. This is what he found:

The demon unsheathed the sword from its scabbard. It raised its sword and activated one of the forms of swordsmanship-The Strike of Anger’s Judgment, while simultaneously activating Mana Channelization on the sword and attacked Aaron. Aaron, thankfully, ducked the sword in time. He decides to use Analyse as little as possible. He doesn’t want to die so fast now, does he?? The sword instead hit the earth and created a 100 feet deep chasm there. Aaron thought, What the heck!! I mean, yeah it has unmeasurable strength and all, but it just lightly struck the sword. I should analyse the sword. He knows the time wasted could result in his death, but he has to take the risk to know the threat better.

He attacks the monster under his torso on his legs by crouching and sliding, which had been unprotected when it had tried to attack him. A big advantage for Aaron there, since the sword, had been monster size and therefore, he had been able to slip between the large gap created by the sword’s angle with the earth. He slips under the sword, and as soon as the right leg of the monster comes under an arm's length, he stabs the leg of the monster. Aaron's plan would have worked, but he didn't account for the monster's strength. Even though the monster was howling from pain due to being stabbed by a legendary holy item, it swung its leg away from Aaron to leave him vulnerable, without any weapon. That monster sure is intelligent, thought Aaron. But since he was a druid-and a magical ranged fighter no less with advanced level in Light Magic has its perks, he was not entirely vulnerable. He still had a few aces up his sleeve. He held up his hand in mock defeat, to have some time for him to cast the most powerful spell he had. He had received it from god Indra when he had completed one of the god Indra's secret quests. Indra warned him it was single-use and to be used in extreme circumstances. He hoped this qualifies as an extreme circumstance. The voice was pleased that Aaron had given up, "I am pleased Aaron. Looks like you are not a doofus like that Divyansh. I had also offered him this power, but he denied it. Now he will be so shocked when he comes to know that his Guild's highest member is on my side and attacking him tonight. You know, I was originally going to follow you to Guild's location because the Guild's location always changes monthly. When you discovered us, I thought I would have to destroy you. But look what happened now. This is so surprising and fun you know?? I didn't expect you to-", the voice stopped midways suddenly as it noticed Aaron finishing casting The White Bolts Of Judgement and immediately directed the spell towards the monster.

The monster was blown off his feet as thousands of white bolts of lightning hit it, injuring it gravely. Or so as Aaron thought. But the monster came out from the barrage, uninjured except for the damage caused by the dagger which was also healing, while the dagger laid on the side, removed by the monster.

Aaron turned white, as it saw the monster lumbering in front of him, getting ready to attack him. He tried to duck, to escape but was not able to. Instead, he received this notification:

Know This!! You have been put under a paralyzation spell. You will not be able to move for 10 minutes.

He now knew it was all over. The last thing he heard before the sword decapitated his head was, "Bye Aaron. The end of this world has started and the dawn of my new world is near."
