Summary

The year is 2087. After global plagues recurring year after year since 2020’s coronavirus, the world’s powers made the decision to band together in a time of desperation, creating one world government with the purpose of international cooperation during times of crisis. For a short time, the plan was a success. The pandemics ceased to exist in 2034 with the formation of the worldwide government. A mere two years after the so called solution, however, the president of the worldwide governing system became paranoid, entertaining the belief that some members of his cabinet were planning his assassination. Feeling that the only way to be certain of his life was to rid himself of a treasonous cabinet, President Blayne Statham quietly arranged the assassination of each and every one of his underlings. This severely upset the delicate balance of the new government and effectively made President Statham the king of the world. President Statham’s paranoia only grew worse as more and more time passed. He continued to increase restrictions and escalate punishments for legal offenses until the death penalty became commonplace. A rebellion formed to fight back against the injustice, but has not yet been effective in their attempts. In a world drowning in hopelessness, the only way out for many is to look ahead to their own death.

This is something that I started in creative writing for school last year, and it is actually going to become a prequel to a trilogy I am writing. This is only the second draft. If you do not like it, or are confused by some grammar, I am sorry, but I do not have time to heavily edit this as of yet. That being said, if you have constructive criticism I would love to hear it! I hope you enjoy the story and I also hope you would consider buying this book/the trilogy when it is finished!

Sydne: Very heartwarming story. It has real emotions. The main female character reminds me somewhat of myself having to deal with childhood trauma that just leads you down a path of more bad decisions until one day you make a decision that changes everything for the better and it’s hard for to realize that...
