Summary

These are all poems that I began writing when I developed depression at 13 years old, they helped me get out what I felt like I couldn't say to anyone and helped me get over my depression. Now I am a 22 year old woman with a beautiful family and I hope that these poems could help someone else as well.

War

Can't we all just live in peace?

0

I'd like to rest, I'd like to sleep.

The guns that used to keep me up at night have now become my lullaby.

I hear them all, the bombs that blow.

My mother screams as the door explodes;

The men they yell, then they see me;

Silently crying and shivering.

They see the scars and pity me...

But, how are we ever supposed to leave?
