Chapter 1 “I am madison bowland and I am a warrior
“I am Madison bowland and I am a warrior,” I whispered under her breath looking at the banged up mirror. Fighting was a way the world worked either that or power. I couldn’t help but giggle at the sight of 17 year old girl say I am a warrior in a mirror.
As I tucked in my best jeans into my lace top, I yanked my to small jumper on me. My thick brown hair was in a small bun at the back of my head as I put two pieces of hair in front of my face. I batted my jeans so hard to get the mud of puffs of thick dust shot out. My jeans were ripped and dirty but not as ripped as my lace top I had to find my only jumper to cover up the ugly site. My mother didn’t buy me any clothes this winter we couldn’t afford for all of us to have new clothes so my jumper had one more month and it would have to me given to Maisy.
Maisy was a 10 year old girl who was fun of life. She was kind and extremely smart she wanted to help mother in the remedy shop in town to help people. She never failed to astound me how fast she could make some medicine out of small plants I find out in the forest.
Maisy slumps in the room with a face of concern in her baby pink top and black trousers were big and baggy on her small frame. She gave me a quick funny smile. I smiled as I realised that was all that she could fit in to ( we could not afford to by new clothes when she grows)she had to have baggy clothes so she could were them for a long period of time, but for a long period of time she would look like a group of elf’s hiding in the baggy clothes. I do not believe in myths but truthfully thought of what she looked like and I have explained that many times to her.
She looks up worried and says
“what if you get chosen for the games what will I do?”
Tearing up I wipe under her eyes,trying to pull it together gathering the words.
“You are brave and strong and if I do which is rare I will win and be victorious,” I say with a warm smile “there is over 2000 people here and I can not possibly be chosen to many people!”
She chuckles “but there is 645 children at my school who can not compete and 1045 parents and adults so that means...” I put my finger over her mouth and squeeze her tightly knowingly how big of the chance I can be chosen.
Not wanting to let go my mother leans on the rickety door frame of the small house and frowns “it’s time to go,”
I sigh sharply well getting up of the old concrete floor my farther walks in he to scared for me gives me his old coat. His black hair shot back as his dark brown top was rugged and his trousers where moved and a small blonde haired boy cam crashing in I put him in the air and put him down pretending to be a rocket onto the bed, making funny sounds my sister chuckled and so did my parents my dads beard swayed side to side as he laughed. Finally a moment not be scared or worried a time when we can laugh.
My mother left to get her bag my farther had bought her for her birthday she loved it and went with her only dress a long purple one filled with flowers that went with all occasions. Her black slip on shoes went perfectly for it ,she was beautiful. My farther was a wood cutter but Maisy called it tree killer he always laughed well all her face crinkled up frowning at him.
He was by care the largest with a huge appetite he was very thick and muscular but yet I still win some of are constant wrestling matches. “Sometime to questions one strength is a mistake for you never know until you test it “ I said to my farther at the end of a arm wrestle,which I wone

The name **poderoso** was passed down from generations yet with such power they would tell us the meaning to gloat of there power.
They found the games a show to watch when it became to right time of year. The games would change every year that means so did the districts challenges. Each district would have a section and a team made up of 10 people,every section has one temple to find and a treasure they change every year but if that is Destroyed the section will face a challenge.a challenge that costs peoples lives.
