Prologue
"Get out!" She screamed. Hitting the man in front of her. "Don't you ever come here again or I will call the cops!" She screamed shoving him out the door and slamming it in his face.0
The woman slumped down to the floor and sobbed.
"M-mommy?" A small voice whimpered. The woman looked over and gasped.
"Oh Em! Come here hon'." She said holding out her arms.
The child ran to her mother, her fair skin clashing with her mother's darker tone. Her white hair covered her mother's arms and the childs white silk wings huddled as far as they could into the child's back.
"I won't ever let you get hurt again mommy!" Cried the child squeezing her mother's brown dread locks in her hands.
Though she was small and young she knew, the man that hurt her mother was trying to hurt her. It was the child's fault because she was an Angel.
"Don't worry my love, it is I who will always protect you. No matter what." Her mother whispered.
Kissing her head she rocked the child 'til a deep slumber took her. She layed the child down in her bed and cuddled her close. No one will ever hurt you again my love. I swear. She thought to herself.
